I hear all the help and advice. . .
All joints are moved.

tear off the lucas pump and place carefully in bin
the turbo can be carefully placed next to it.
Good manifold for fitting a gearbox mounted turbo, nice easy pipework, same as mine.
Get it all decoked nicely! And check all the hydro lifters for wear, the top ball edge can wear badly.
worth port matching on the exhaust side, and some flow work.
check crank seals too, both mine wear weeping. Worth taking sump off too, clean gunk out and check crank/bearings
also the breather pipes were all split on mine...worth checking now, causes a lot of oil leaks!

That lucas goes to the trash. . .
Ya and Got a head for my bosch 11mm
Unable to put the turbo on the gearbox, if you see the police confiscate my car. . . in Spain it is very prohibited. . .
The seals will be changed all, I'm tired of oil leaks, and now I can leave it well. . .
That exhaust ports work Recommend?
The exhaust ports are not xud9 something bigger?

Hopefully going to be a great project mate
What 406 is this engine going into?
As Piggy says I'd mount the turbo above the gearbox which is where mine is going very soon.

can't see why the cops will be unhappy with a gearbox mounted turbo if you have done ti correctly, insured it as such etc.
But admittedly, in a 406, you have more space down the back

This. We are quite fortunate in what we can get away with over here!

You just have to look around to see the state of some of the modded cars on the road not to mention some of the parts you can buy which aren't safe at all.
These countries don't just make rules for the fun of it. They are based on statistics and facts.

In Spain everything is prohibited.
The little that can be done, you have to approve an engineer, pay a lot of money.
And usually only leave standardize material that comes with the approval number.
Then you go to the itv (vehicle inspection) Vuelves to pay and you watch them all and the engineer's report to see if you accept it and point you in the list of all car
At the end you have stolen 380 €, in my case, for my 406, and you see how it is. . . .
Surely the turbo in the gearbox, and the engineer does not want to try to do anything. . .
You have pictures of the work to be done in the exhaust ports xud11?
Well here is my template turbo flange, 20mm iron will be, and planning on the lathe, to see how it looks. . .
Moving and cleaning conches
That drop of oil? is worrying?
Just have slack.
The push the axis, the turbine does not touch the conch.

Yes, 20mm iron will be, and planning on the lathe, for +-1.7mm.
Is It will be necessary to change the turbo seals?
See if zxvolcane passes here. . . . .

If you have the turbo apart it wouldnt be a bad thing...but I would leave the oil rings and bearings alone unless you suspect something is wrong, could make the situation worse to be honest.
20mm iron seems overkill to be honest, but if thats what you have around cheap, it will do. Glad you got a lathe...drilling 10mm steel was a pain when I did mine!

You might want to read up on NZ mods too.
I chopped the front of my Honda away to fit a bigger FMIC. I've broken a variety of regs on modding chassis that mean the car wont pass the NZ WOF test even tho it's effectively stronger.
I've changed the front tie arms for rose jointed stronger ones, but the pick ups being in a different place mean it's also a no go, despite being chromoly and massively stronger than OEM.
The issue being the shell will no longer deform as per a stock car in a frontal impact.
Plus many mods require pricey govt certification before you can ever get it to a WOF station.
Also IIRC there is a percentage increase in engine power over stock - not 100% sure on that one, would have to check again.
Whilst our insurance situation is terrible here compared to some countries, what we are allowed to get away with is fantastic in comparison and IMHO completely offsets insurance issues once you get some NCB behind you and out of your early 20's.
BTW: great thread, good to see those pics, appreciate the size of the XUD11 much better.

Cylinder head out, is no wear on the engine jacket, and very clean, very well preserved
The stock has that cut into three cylinders. . . not if normal

Ah not good mate that cracked head and pre cup.
I think the cut outs in the top of the piston are not valve cut outs but to create a swirl as the mix comes out of the pre cup.
