....and no this isn't an MOT thread, that was last month!
This time its the turn of insurance. Just had my renewal quote through from Flux, very impressed to start with, then i noticed a few amendments that i need to phone them about, shouldnt make much of a difference though. But, i also thought, for shitzengiggles, i'd get some quotes from confused.com as well....here was the result:
[attachment=13549]
Only 3 times the quote i got from Flux for exactly the same policy! How do they get away with it?! I suppose there is the fact that Flux cater to modified vehicles on the regular, but thats extortionate!
And for the nosey ones, my Flux renewal came through at £482 tpft, as opposed to the £652 it was last year (not counting the fact i pay monthly).

Turned 30 in December, and got 2 years no claims as of this year. The most expensive quote was a few quid shy of £11,000!

Lol at that 'GoGirl' quote...then again, you probably aren't their target market Steve!
On the subject of insurance, mines up in about a month, current renewal would be £350 Fully Comp for the Vec, though hopefully I'll have something else by then. However it'd be really useful to have DOCs on the policy, I'll be 22 at the time.....which insurers offer DOCs at my age?

In my experience you will have to be 25 for cover on other cars. People on here have said that they have it younger than that, but whenever I've asked about they've told me the rules have been changed.
Oh and Greenlight work just like Brent regarding mods.

Greenlight do indeed do modded cars, will be giving them a ring tomorrow. And Jordan (JJ0063) is the guy who works at Flux, and the one who arranged my current policy.

I went with TPFT as recommended by Jordan, as it was cheaper, and lets be honest, if you prang a 306, its far cheaper to repair yourself than to do it through insurance anyway. If nothing else, its an incentive NOT to have an accident!

Mate, i'm definitely not their target market, as i'm not dense enough to accept a £10k quote for TPFT insurance on a 306!
And excuse my ignorance, but DOC's?

Driving other cars. I have it with Flux, was 22 when the policy was taken out. Mate has it with Admiral on a multicar with his dad, same age. I'm TPFT, he's FC.

I've had the pleasure of cover on other cars for a fair few years as well, although it may well have started when i turned 25.....not sure though, that was a long time ago!

I've had driving other cars since I was 21, that's with Brentacre, First and Adrian Flux. With Brentacre now and paying £380 fully comp with protected NCB and driving other cars, pretty happy considering where I live is band F

Tbh, on a standard worthless hdi with 12 years no claims confused.com will come back with some similar quotes for me. Don't know why they even bother to return a figure.
My rallye is fully comp with every mod declared for under 400, but getting on now lol. Also with flux for that.

Same here though Sam, my current policy would have cost £652 if i'd paid in one lump, came to over the £700 mark though once you add in the interest of paying monthly. Maybe next year i might be able to pay the policy off in one lump, then not have to worry about it for a year! That'd be nice.

you realise its cheaper to pay it in a lump sum on a credit card than to pay it monthly?

I'm with flux and already not happy.
They have a surcharge for basically everything and every tiny little modification that you ring them about is another 50 quid.
Also, if you ever do call them, I hope you enjoy "on hold" music...

Flux got on my tits. I pitted Christ Knott, Flux, Prestige and Sky all against each other and ended up paying just over £350.
Finally, cheap insurance!

Really? The hold music does happen a fair bit but once you get through to someone they are normally really good. It was £25 to swap one car to another but it turned out to be £25 less to insure the other car so it didnt cost me anything.
Also with modifications are you on an modified policy? With mine im fairly sure i can have any modification up to 200hp and i beleive all i have to do is tell them and there isnt a charge.

Evidently not even though the car had a mod when I insured it and seeing as how they market themselves as a flexible, specialist broker that regularly deals with these things I assumed it'd be okay.
Definitely going through greenlight next year and won't stay with flux even if they offer me free blowjobs.
