So this is how Nik got her car, it had done 95k miles, just had headgasket done on it, had over £400 spent on it, got a 1000W FLI Sub in the boot and her Sony stereo, it's rather good for a 1.4, not the cheapest when it comes to fuel use that's for sure, any how, here's the pics of it!
have got a few things to change on it, (Blue LED door lights, Blue speedo dials, Cone Air Filter, Power Flow back box with a race tube [just for sound]) I'll keep you 306 nuts posted!
I need to spray the rocker cover as it looks crap on it, Need to give it a wash and wax as it ain't been done for a while, I love driving this, throwing it in corners, my Astra wasn't as good as this, everything about this car beats my Astra, just the size of it is what kills me!

Pkay right. What you need to do is....

Swap that fake wood centre console for a silver one. Or spray paint it. £10
Paint that 'rocker cover' so its nice and shiny. Replacement heat shields are cheap to. £6
You need to lower it 40mm £50 for the front springs and £100 to lower the rear beam
Look for some phase 3 crystal headlights £40
You have got colour coded bumpers some how so colour code the black rub strips on the door.
debadge the rear
dewiper the rear
colour code the mirror caps
aero blades

and yeh. then youre making the most of a blaze really!

May I ask where you are planning on putting that filter? If you remove the airbox then one of the breather pipes wont be attached to anything. What I suggest you do is what I did with my 1.4. Leave the air box in. Take off the reducer that is coming off the front of the box and put the filter on there. It fits nicely and then that bit of ribbed tube points straight at the filter.

This was my 1.4!





You can see in that last picture that i cut the front of the scoop away too to try and get more air in. Because thats how subarus do it right?

Looks mint mate, thanks for the heads up, I was gonna cut the scoop away anyway and I dunno how they came like that regarding the bumpers, think they was sprayed as you can see the plastic patteren at the back of it, also I was gonna do what you done with your filter just take out the panel filter and stick it in on the box!

So Air Filter is now fitted, backlights are changed on the dials, door light is now changed, alternator has been changed, car's hit a milestone of 100,000 miles (Due for the scrap yard now) that's probs about all I can update you with at the moment!

Update guys, sorry for the long wait but it's just random stuff been done to the car!
Apart from changing the battery, alternator, starter motor, cambelt, exhaust and a few other things, it's getting there!

This was a pain in the rear to get connected to the sub due to the fact this doesn't have the AUX outputs on the back for a sub...

+1 for the laugh, I'm the one who got the air filter for the car, people said it wouldn't make a difference and it hasn't, it was only £10 so.... changed the sound of the car though, stock exhaust and a cone air filter, sounds DIRTY at about 3k - 5k RPM, lol

Yeah this came like this so...... I seen the same one with more miles on (130k) for £999 on ebay buy it now, Nik picked this up for £600 with 95k miles on :-D

I know mate, I was thinking of taking back box off and just clamping that in place of it with an exhaust tip on it, then put a race tube on the car and leave it as that! You're right as well it is a center piece (off a scooby) I got it for free soo.....

Brand new battery was put on on the 30 of December and it's failed to start again, it's had a new alternator (times 3) and finally a working one, so now what the hell is wrong with it? Battery is been replaced again so if it STILL doesn't start, start looking at a spiked ECU?

i guess if that's the look you're going for they'll be fine as show plates, i highly doubt they'd be legal for road use, as you're not allowed a background pattern

any more details on the starting issue you could give would help, does it turn over but not fire? or does it go flat? if it just goes flat, with the ignition off get a multimeter on the battery and check if theres any significant current draw, if there is it may be a bare wire somewhere creating a short, or one of the things on the car (alarm / stereo / lights ) may be on permanently, try unplugging things until the draw goes away..

It just goes flat mate, found out it was a dodgy ass piece of junk boot light so gonna replace the switch on it and see if that works, if not just gonna see if there's any bare wires making a short somewhere, as for the plates, I'm getting 2 sets (one set with backing, one set without) for show and road use and it's not my car, it's my girls car so....

Thanks, could be a lot better outside, needs a good clean, clay bar, polish, wax and tire/plastic dress, other than that not much else wrong with it, just needs rear windows tinting 5% limo black, then it'd look a beast!
