Freaking SOB!
#1
I cant catch a freaking break Angry

Angry

Its not been rubbing or kinked or bent...just decided after a 1000miles or so that it would leak.

Its leaking internally somehow.

I havnt even been under the bonnet for at least a week!

Just noticed my oil pressure gauge needing flickering oddly, so stopped and had a look...lost a good 2/3litres of oil

Sad

He has emailed me back within the hour or so, offering full refund, new pipe and cost of oil covered.

I still lost a potential brilliant new client from it though. Just when I needed the cash too.

I cant work out how its happened...cleaned up theres no damage whatsoever, not a mark

At least the seller is up to scratch, is there any chance the oil could have come from somewhere else? Although that does seem remarkably unlikely...

Why don't you just ditch the oil cooler dude, the thing's been nothing but ballache for you and you don't need it at all.

I have for now.
Ive just looped the good AN pipe round...to keep the sensors functioning.

I duno...I have thought about it. I will watch the temps without it and see.

I cleaned it all off and restarted the engine, and took that pic as I saw it bleeding out...so its defo from there.

Plus now bypassed, theres no leak from anywhere

Golfs are shite. Utter shite. Unless you are going to get a new one, i wouldn't bother. They aren't as reliable as people make out and they don't handle that well at all so no fun!

Shooting yourself would be preferable to buying a golf.

What because you have a faulty oil pipe? Shit happens. He's offered to replace it so its not like you've got to pay out to repair it.

Wow. I'm just imagining you owning an unreliable car. Like one that doesn't start in the morning or randomly cuts out. Or one that has major electrical faults. It's an oil leak. Mtfu and fix it. Big Grin

when I see stories like this, piggy it sort of puts me off.
as you would expect them to be spot on, for the price! also its the damage that can happen to, when they fail!

I know I know.

All seems to happen to me though. Doing my freaking head in.

That oil line was like the best bit of me car! lol

So far, per mile, I could have run an Evo for less!

Like when it didnt start this week...twice.

Like the horrid electrical interference issues I have with my stereo and dash

Like the injector spewing fuel everywhere.

I've bypassed it for now. Cant see the need in winter anyway...I was thinking of blanking it irronicaly as the temp was a bit cool

My neighbour's selling his Evo 8 if that's the case....preferable to a Golf anyway, unless you were thinking mk6 onwards which I doubt lol.

On a serious note though, shit does happen more to some than others....if you did change car, it'd be just the same.....trust me on that! Dodgy

I feel for you piggy, as I have been down this route a few times. you go thru the stint. the amount of time and money I have spent, I could have done a MK2 escort!
At times I have wished I had done! my mum has asked me a few times, how far do you go! and why not just do another car etc.

The silver one was extremely reliable!

As long as you didn't want boost at all...most of it fell out through the SMIC....then I replaced the SMIC and kept blowing hoses off instead...

As said, shit happens more to some than others lol.

Yeah, how reliable was your golf tom lol

that was because he wouldn't take it over 2k rpm, so the poor thing died of lack of boost.
