Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 I cant catch a freaking break Its not been rubbing or kinked or bent...just decided after a 1000miles or so that it would leak. Its leaking internally somehow. I havnt even been under the bonnet for at least a week! Just noticed my oil pressure gauge needing flickering oddly, so stopped and had a look...lost a good 2/3litres of oil RE: Freaking SOB! - Dum-Dum - 12-12-2013 How the hell has that happened? Hopefully youll get a replacement from the supplier RE: Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 He has emailed me back within the hour or so, offering full refund, new pipe and cost of oil covered. I still lost a potential brilliant new client from it though. Just when I needed the cash too. I cant work out how its happened...cleaned up theres no damage whatsoever, not a mark RE: Freaking SOB! - Poodle - 12-12-2013 That's terrible, seems those lines aren't fit for purpose tbh. RE: Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 There proper AN lines too...like triple braided! Im really angry and really confused at the same time. Im weighing up my options: Fire Water Scrapyard Ditch Buy a golf RE: Freaking SOB! - Poodle - 12-12-2013 At least the seller is up to scratch, is there any chance the oil could have come from somewhere else? Although that does seem remarkably unlikely... Why don't you just ditch the oil cooler dude, the thing's been nothing but ballache for you and you don't need it at all. RE: Freaking SOB! - Tom - 12-12-2013 I'll buy it... Lol RE: Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 I have for now. Ive just looped the good AN pipe round...to keep the sensors functioning. I duno...I have thought about it. I will watch the temps without it and see. I cleaned it all off and restarted the engine, and took that pic as I saw it bleeding out...so its defo from there. Plus now bypassed, theres no leak from anywhere (12-12-2013, 04:55 PM)Tom Wrote: I'll buy it... They shouldnt ever fail like that though...I would bet no one on this forum has ever had one go like that RE: Freaking SOB! - Niall - 12-12-2013 Golfs are shite. Utter shite. Unless you are going to get a new one, i wouldn't bother. They aren't as reliable as people make out and they don't handle that well at all so no fun! What because you have a faulty oil pipe? Shit happens. He's offered to replace it so its not like you've got to pay out to repair it. RE: Freaking SOB! - Jonny81191 - 12-12-2013 Wow. I'm just imagining you owning an unreliable car. Like one that doesn't start in the morning or randomly cuts out. Or one that has major electrical faults. It's an oil leak. Mtfu and fix it. RE: Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 I know I know. All seems to happen to me though. Doing my freaking head in. That oil line was like the best bit of me car! So far, per mile, I could have run an Evo for less! (12-12-2013, 05:12 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: Wow. I'm just imagining you owning an unreliable car. Like the horrid electrical interference issues I have with my stereo and dash Like the injector spewing fuel everywhere. I've bypassed it for now. Cant see the need in winter anyway...I was thinking of blanking it irronicaly as the temp was a bit cool RE: Freaking SOB! - Danny2009 - 12-12-2013 If you buy a golf ill shoot you Not having much luck are you mate really Doesn't like keeping its oil in RE: Freaking SOB! - Piggy - 12-12-2013 (12-12-2013, 05:14 PM)Danny2009 Wrote: If you buy a golf ill shoot you Bit annoyed as I am going to see my oldest best mate this weekend and was looking forward to showing it off...and its just letting me down! grrr ah crap. I hate golfs anyway RE: Freaking SOB! - cully - 12-12-2013 you want unreliablity you should try owning a french car or four like whats on my drive Oh wait....french....yes ok RE: Freaking SOB! - Toms306 - 12-12-2013 (12-12-2013, 05:12 PM)Piggy Wrote: I know I know. My neighbour's selling his Evo 8 if that's the case....preferable to a Golf anyway, unless you were thinking mk6 onwards which I doubt lol. On a serious note though, shit does happen more to some than others....if you did change car, it'd be just the same.....trust me on that! At times I have wished I had done! my mum has asked me a few times, how far do you go! and why not just do another car etc. RE: Freaking SOB! - Dum-Dum - 12-12-2013 (12-12-2013, 05:20 PM)Toms306 Wrote:(12-12-2013, 05:12 PM)Piggy Wrote: I know I know. As long as you didn't want boost at all...most of it fell out through the SMIC....then I replaced the SMIC and kept blowing hoses off instead... As said, shit happens more to some than others lol.
