XUD7 injector washer removal
#1
Got a stuck injector washer on the 205, have tried everything i can think of - knocking it round with a screwdriver, plusgas, carb cleaner, twisting it with a chisel, heating, rapid cooling, swearing at it, combinations and repeats of all of the above..... Can't source an injector seat cutter the right size and am minutes away from resorting to the dremel. Any ideas?

I had the EXACT same problem, what you need is an L shaped pick and then you need to hook it underneath the washer and lever it upwards. Don't use a small screwdriver as the end breaks off, this happened to me but luckily it didn't go into the pre chamber.

Tried a pick, sounds like you need to buy better tools man. :S

Don't think i made the first post clear enough, i got the other three injector washers out in seconds, but this one is stuck.

I've seen this and genuinely shocked at how seized this is.

If i were you, after everything i've seen you try, i'd resort to a dremel; start by very finely cutting a line across the washer, so you've got a chunk taken out of it or so, then work at it again. with a screwdriver/chisel.

If that doesnt work, repeat the process on the opposite site to the first incision. I really can't think if anything else mate..

Guys, you're all missing the point.

This is STUCK lol

I don't know what to suggest though, other than using something like a vertical milling tool if you can't find an appropriate size seat cutter. Or hunt down a local diesel specialist, then drive it there with diesel pissing out Sad

Dremel can't cut a slot because it's a rotary tool with round cutting blades, would hit the thread before getting all the way through the washer. Used tons of heat lol. Can't leave it because i've mashed it so much and it was leaking before.

Got it out! Drilled a hole in the outside edge, wedged a screwdriver against the inside edge on the same bit that was drilled, then applied pressure and tapped the shaft side-on a few times to shock it, popped out on the fourth hit.

Haha yeah slightly relieved to say the least. Head is not mashed at all, turns out theres a sleeve sat underneath the washers and ive dinked that a bit, but nothing too serious. Smile
