Grant, if you're serious about adjusting my torsion bar at the campsite, should I bring anything with me tool-wise? Axle stands? Only got a scissor jack as well.

I would be more than willing to help sort out the stance at camping
![]()
Ok, well let's put it out there. Beer tokens available for help offered, this weekend was the first time I've tackled a torsion bar, so every little helps.
![]() I'll bring my axle stands, and a toolbox, if we could make use of your trolley jack Jamie, thatd be grand. ![]() Oh, and ill bring a BFO hammer too. ![]() ![]()

I'd happily bring my jack along but I'm going to be bringing the gazebo and camping gear, so it might be a squeeze! If there's space in Kim's car I'll bring the jack and tools along, 306oc support 6 ftw!

Im sure between everyone we shall have enough tools. Just someone remember to pack the damn Swarfega!! lol
Yeah deffo up for lending a hand mate. If i get ridiculously drunk and your car ends up wonkey, it's Jamie's fault! ![]() Member of the 99% warning or you're nothing club 2000 Moonstone 1.8 Meridian - Sold 2000 China 3dr XS - Dead 1998 Diablo 3dr XSI

Washing up liquid and sugar does the same job! ;-) and I'd quite like to end up with it level if it's all the same!

And I'd quite like a lambourghini filled with chocolate-covered, sex-starved lesbians parked on my drive. But we don't all get whatever the f*ck we want in life do we?!

I'd also like to think that with all the knowledge and experience that the people there have (and the fact that it was all taken apart just the other day), we should manage to do it a bit quicker than I did Saturday!
![]() ![]()
22-07-2013, 09:27 PM
You'd be sorely mistaken if you think it'd get done quicker because there more knowledgeable people there. Remember that the more they know how to fix it, the more they know how to f*ck with it
![]() Just kidding, with something like a rear beam it'd get done properly. You just mind not find your throttle cable is attached afterwards ![]()

![]() Reminds me though, need to grab some new seals, as we noticed they'd had it, one disintegrated completely when we took the bar out! ![]()
22-07-2013, 09:38 PM
I heard Peugeot are doing the bearing and seal kits pretty cheap at the moment (around £23 a side?) so it's a good time to buy! The bearings we probably couldn't do on site (if we even can do any work at all there by the way, we don't want them getting funny with us as we're there for two nights).

I did think that Scott, not sure it'll be a good idea having the car on axle stands on the grass!
![]() I might just bring some silicone instead, that'll do the same job, right? ![]() ![]()

So, only just thought i should update this after FCS...
![]() Thankfully, other than diesel, it seems my car lost nothing in the way of fluids over the whole trip, gained no dents, knocks, undue noises or anything else. A completely non-dramatic journey all in all. Other than my own density on the way up of course...thinking i'd forgotten our tickets, turning around and driving 45 minutes back to my place to find they were in the car the whole time. ![]() I may have mentioned over the weekend (or not, can't remember tbh!), that i've FINALLY cured my knocking suspension, turned out to be a duff 2 month old droplink! ![]() Progress is sadly going to slow even more for a while, as i promised the missus that after the show, i would spend more time with her than on the car, so i'm gonna spoil her with attention for a while, and try and save some money together to get some of the other jobs done, such as the clutch and cambelt. REALLY need to give her a service again as well soon. Gonna raise the torsion bar up a little bit at some point though, but that wont really cost anything, apart from man hours. ![]() Feel free to post any pics from FCS in here as well, this thread needs moar pics. ![]() ![]()

My drivers side bolster is well worn now, and every time i get in and out of the car, i make the hole a little bit bigger. So i thought about how i could do something to slow the damage, and wondered if using a lace would work? I've got some hi-viz green and orange laces, so figured i could put them to some use...
What do you lot think? ![]()

Cheers mate, on both counts. I try and keep her alright, but funds are tight, so it's always such slow progress.
