Hey guys,
Had a 306 HDi on a stage 1 for a while now, and I live in Devon.
Want to go for a stage 2, soon to bashing the insides of the cat out, then intercooler and increase in turbo boost.
No idea where to start on the stage 2.
Any help would be much appreciated
Callum

We're just going to open it up, bash out the insides and weld it back up, more satisfying that way I imagine :p

Better off cutting it out and welding in a bit of pipe if you're getting the welder out anyway, straight pipe would be better.
Welcome

Would MOT testers get arsey about it if they noticed it was gone?

Hi,
Got a 306 1.4 LX, V Reg, been a good car that I've had for a while now.
Only do 3-4K a year in it, mainly as a town car plus a few trips a year along the south coast.

fyi, get a decat pipe...can then sell the cat, worth £25 even to a scrappy due to the metals inside

I didn't think they'd be worth anything? Think I'd rather take the insides out so I can have a look at what's inside

Hijack? Don't understand that, thought this was the new user post area?
What's the advantage of running a car without a cat, I thought all petrol cars post '92 had to run a cat? Also If you get rid of the cat, how does that affect the MOT test each year?

Turbo spools quicker. And diesels aren't tested on emissions for the MOT, just smoke density.
Also less restriction, more power!!! If only a little, I'd rather have no cat

Oh I understand now why you remove the cat, but my car is a petrol with no Turbo so I suppose the cat has to stay to meet the emissions.

The only info I can't find is a complete guide for fitting an inter cooler on the HDI, if someone could link me that would be epic!
And if anyone is around this area and wouldn't mind helping fit it and upping the boost pressure, I'll repay in beers!!
