Hi all
Over the coming months i will be updating my thread with the progress of my GTI-6
So lets start with the basics
she is a 1998 6 in onyx black, been in my family since 2001 owned by my brother, so when i got the phone call do you want the 306 or its getting scrapped, i jumped at the chance always loved the 6.
So after getting in touch with my mate who has a recovery service.
off we went to halewood to collect the car. After my 2hr 30 mins journey we got the car loaded up sorry about the lack or artistic flair on my photo as my phones battery was running low
The plan was to get back to Newcastle ASAP and drop the car off at college where i am dong my level 3 motor vehicle and have full access to a unit with four poster ramp We arrived about 3 hours 50 mins later
As you can see i wasted no time in getting her up on the ramps for a inspection of the underside of the car. and was surprised as to how clean it was underneath saying the car had not been moved for 2 years
One things for sure there is a mega clean up on the cards found this after poping the bonnet
Also found a nice wet patch in passengers side foot well which i have isolated to a door rubber.
Inside is a right mess :/
so after compiling a basic list of what i need i ordered the following
plugs
oil filter
fuel filter
water pump
Timing belt and tensioner
Front & rear disc's & pads
thermostat
oil
coolant
with the kids being off school last week i am unable to get started
so i now have a boot full of parts ready to be fitted on monday
lots more to come in the coming weeks i have until june to ge the car in a roadworthy condition
few pictures of my previous cars
The E39
The 205 1.9 GTI
Cheers for looking
Puggie
