Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 24-02-2013 Hi all Over the coming months i will be updating my thread with the progress of my GTI-6 So lets start with the basics ![]() she is a 1998 6 in onyx black, been in my family since 2001 owned by my brother, so when i got the phone call do you want the 306 or its getting scrapped, i jumped at the chance ![]() So after getting in touch with my mate who has a recovery service. ![]() off we went to halewood to collect the car. After my 2hr 30 mins journey we got the car loaded up sorry about the lack or artistic flair on my photo as my phones battery was running low ![]() ![]() The plan was to get back to Newcastle ASAP and drop the car off at college where i am dong my level 3 motor vehicle and have full access to a unit with four poster ramp We arrived about 3 hours 50 mins later ![]() As you can see i wasted no time in getting her up on the ramps for a inspection of the underside of the car. and was surprised as to how clean it was underneath saying the car had not been moved for 2 years One things for sure there is a mega clean up on the cards found this after poping the bonnet ![]() Also found a nice wet patch in passengers side foot well which i have isolated to a door rubber. Inside is a right mess :/ ![]() so after compiling a basic list of what i need i ordered the following plugs oil filter fuel filter water pump Timing belt and tensioner Front & rear disc's & pads thermostat oil coolant with the kids being off school last week i am unable to get started ![]() so i now have a boot full of parts ready to be fitted on monday ![]() lots more to come in the coming weeks i have until june to ge the car in a roadworthy condition few pictures of my previous cars The E39 ![]() The 205 1.9 GTI ![]() Cheers for looking Puggie RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Piggy - 24-02-2013 awesome! get that polishing wheel out on the inlet manifold! yum! Typical peugeot tbh, so that's on order from Peugeot i will update with some progress pictures today. Next step is to start the clean down of the engine baytaking various parts off and making them look nice Next question is Red calipers with white wheels or silver wheels with white calipers any pictures kicking about with a black 6 on white cyclones ? and color coded side strips or keep them standard, and does anyone have any idea on the correct badge config for a phase 2 ? as i have a right mish mash of badges RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - MissTap_GTI6 - 05-03-2013 Nice car! My phase 2 came without any rear Gti 6 badge only the 306 badge, so, i removed the badges and bought a gti and a 6 badge on ebay ![]() have you thought about entering the PPC challenge? I would love to see a '6 taking part! RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 05-03-2013 whats a PPC challenge ? RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - ginge191 - 05-03-2013 PPC £999 challenge is a challenge with 2 events (slalom and straight race) for people to build cars for under £1k. The only issue i'd see is the "cost" of the car, in the rules you can't be "given a car" , if you do, you have to take into account the cost of the car to 'Joe Bloggs' - and could be hard to find a GTI6 fir under £1k alone, let alone the cost of getting it back on the road and MOT worthy, but would be a good competitor! Click down below to have a look at mine.. RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 05-03-2013 Ahh cool Well as of this week the six stands me £ 386 quid ![]() ![]() RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - MissTap_GTI6 - 05-03-2013 It would look epic with a wet sand! Fancy doing mine?! RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 05-03-2013 no worries have to bring the car to me though quite a drive ahead of your self though ![]() P.S anyone got any yellow 6 badges kicking about ? RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - MissTap_GTI6 - 05-03-2013 This is true!! I would probably damage the paintwork on the way back making the 12 hour trip pointless! Well as of this week the six stands me £ 386 quid Not bad - you'd also need to plus the cost the car from a 'Joe Bloggs' ontop of this ![]() RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 05-03-2013 7p ? ![]() RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - ginge191 - 05-03-2013 (05-03-2013, 02:55 PM)Puggie Wrote: 7p ? ![]() RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - Puggie - 06-03-2013 decided that the magnex centre section and back box are way to loud for me must be getting old ![]() anyone got a six center section and back box in good fettle? willing to do a straight swap as i hate the magnex so much and this arrived today new tax disc holder ![]() next on the list is to de-fluf the alcantara seats time to get the electric shaver out never fails to do the job RE: Puggie's GTI-6 Refresh (free cars are best ) - samsdad2011 - 07-03-2013 Tax disc holder wins!!
