I believe its a whippy map

I'm so happy with those results. Got a few pics. After I went 3 super charged monaros went on. Honestly have never heard anything so loud. Was f*cking awesome!
Defiantly recommend Surrey rolling road.

That's a good figure and power line man! Definitely could do with a bigger pump and fpr
Fooking quality result mate.
Pleased for you. I bloody knew it wasn't 135. Shit! Well done mate. Looking forward to seeing the results with the R70 on now! More power than a standard '6 and more economy! Winning.
16-02-2013, 06:38 PM
nice result dude.
was it just a boost leak causing trouble at ray wests then? done anything else since then?

Dude I dont mean to be the one to piss on your bonfire because those results are exactly what Id of expected but the power curves are far too short, it only runs from 2000-4000rpm. The last HDi dyno I had show the curve as being before 1000rpm till after 4750rpm. Also your peak power is nowhere near where id expect it to be, again my estate on a standard turbo peak power was just shy of 4k so with the hybrid Id expect it to be after that. Also at 3400rpm the figures take a sudden sharp turn downwards which is not normal for a HDi at that point in the rev range.
TBH I think with those discrepancies your new results can only be taken to be as accurate as the ones from ray west.
16-02-2013, 09:21 PM
Sean...my advise would be to go for a figure in the middle...seems like the most acurate.lol.
Joking aside, it is a little weird it starts so far up the revs 138 BHP XSI
16-02-2013, 09:21 PM
IMO the figures are accurate, but the revs are off...
You can defiantly feel it drop of at about 4000rpm due to fueling. Turbo starts spooling low in the rev range too. Chris, you coming ace? You can take samass out cos he wants to go out in it and tell me what you think. You built the turbo, you no how to drive it and what to expect... I think imho that those results are pretty bang on. 30-70 in just over 5 secs. Ruins vnt did it in 5 and that was 170bhp. All I no for sure is its defiantly quick and I'm happy with the figures given and once I've done my tour and got the r70 pump, the fpr and a tb map we will be heading towards 180brake.

(16-02-2013, 09:21 PM)Just Sean Wrote: IMO the figures are accurate, but the revs are off...Yeah as I said mate the numbers look to be pretty much spot on what I'd expect but theyer in the wrong place in the rev range. As you sow from Davids dyno graph the revs being set wrong can massively throw the power figure out from what it should be. Have you used the HP function on the scanguage and if so what does it say (IIRC i had to use it adjusted +100% to get anywhere near right). Id happily take it for a drive and tell you if it feels right. Is there any smoke on blow and how much boost are you making? (16-02-2013, 10:00 PM)Midnightclub Wrote: I've been out in it and i reckon those figures aren't far off tbh chrisYeah the numbers look right mate but the revs on the graph are very wrong.
17-02-2013, 10:28 AM
No mate. It was miles out so didn't bother with it.
Not much smoke on blow but it does smoke when you pull away from the lights... Making 1.6 bar

I see, so the map definitely isn't designed for your set up then. Remember whippy likes to keep his power band feeling as close to standard as possible, so that probably isn't wildly inaccurate. Does seem odd that the power curve collapses quite so early though, although i suppose that map would be designed for a gt15-spec turbo.
Still, not a bad result fella, at least you can be sure there's plenty more to come.
17-02-2013, 11:16 AM
I was under the impression that this map was for the engine and how its set up now. Be interesting to see how much difference a tb map makes.
Yeah, agreed about the delivery. Its really smooth and does feel stock.
17-02-2013, 11:25 AM
Is TB currently answering your emails cos ive been trying to get hold of him for a couple of weeks to get some bits added to my map and he still hasnt replied.
17-02-2013, 11:42 AM
Cheers matt. No Chris he hasn't. I pmd him 2days ago. Disconcerning!!
17-02-2013, 11:58 AM
I'll just wait till he sees it. In no rush atm!
17-02-2013, 02:50 PM
I thought you had Chris' old turbo and a screamer pipe and custom exhaust? Because the one from Whippy will just be a standard stage 2 (FMIC and de-cat) map won't it?
If you're unsettled by delayed response times, i wouldn't bother with TB. In my experience it takes a week to get a response at best and he doesn't seem to like answering questions, which i always find worrying. There's nothing wrong with getting pro_steve or mr whippy to do you a map. If you're willing to go to Bristol to get it done, Steve will map it and analyse the process with pp2k to make sure you're getting the best result.
17-02-2013, 02:57 PM
ive been told that whippy did a custom map for what chris had. Could be rumour mill without chris saying tho...
Im not bothered about delay times atm because im going away in 2 weeks. I have spoken to dave in depth about mapping it all up when im ready, and i like the delivery of this map now. So i might just have to go up and see him
17-02-2013, 06:05 PM
Ah fair, sounds like a plan bud.

I did have a custom map from whippy in that he wrote it specially for me but IIRC it was just a stage 2 converted to run an 1800bar rail sensor. No extra fueling over a standard stage 2. The power increase comes from there being less restriction in the exhaust (ie the turbo housing)

Took Samass out and dum dum took me out.
Think its safe to say they enjoyed it!
