Nice project so far, the only thing I question is the wheels, why did you go so massive?
Serious.
06-01-2013, 06:23 PM
screamerpipes rule!!
@ Lewis, this is one of the best "tuner" wheels available and i wanted something special, thats why... But please dont worry... ill proof that it wil look tits!!! i swear to god you will love them when theyre under the car and ist nicely slammed on the coilovers

They will look good I don't doubt.
Just would've looked better in bronze :p Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.
Well recieved an email with a mockup of my custommade plasma dials.
Im still contemplating on what colour to use for illumination, what do you guys think? Blue (goes with the EVO gauges i have) RED Bright white ( its al plasma, so it will be very nice and bright) only the numbers will light up Whay do you think?

Don't use the porsche turbo font, and red dials are definitely the best, white/blue is a bit chavvy.

Match the light to the gauges mate, looks a mess otherwise. Make it look like it's all been put together with some thought.
Also, go for the first set. As said the Porsche style font on non-porsches just screams Halfords to me.
I wont be using that stupid Turbo logo from Porsche, its the above one (ive got some style )
Ditched the whole Turbo part, will be something like this Marvin my mate and Paul ( me) giving a little personal touch to it Yes, i think CWspellowe you have a point,i think blue will look good... as the gauges are blue to Ive decided to go blue, thats also what the guy who makes these things said...

Blue with red needles will look good. Like a Golf...lol.

Not blue! Its rubbish at night, really blurry.
White is too bright. Not used red so that may be ok, but tbh the best illumnation on any car Ive had is the standard amber glow on 306s lol.
07-01-2013, 03:18 PM
This is plasma, so i wont be blurry..
and Tom, its gotta be something special... I think blue is the best choice to make, seeing that the Prosport Evo gauges are also blue.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiIpSTHn3Ak
07-01-2013, 03:44 PM
Yeah get blue, my plasma dials are set to blue and they're perfectly legible at night. Nothing like crappy blue LED's.
07-01-2013, 04:41 PM
Ill go blue!
07-01-2013, 04:57 PM
I had a Golf with the blue illumination, it was horrible!
It's your car though so up to you obv, blue wouldn't be my choice though.
07-01-2013, 05:01 PM
missus has got a mk4 golf V5 with plasma and it looks spot on not blurry at all. stick with blue with decent leds and can't go wrong IMO
Don't worry about what I'm doing, I want you to worry about what you're doing
07-01-2013, 05:53 PM
Uhmm as mentioned before, plasma has nothing to do with LEDS,
Ill go blue, should match the gauges perfect, even the gaugemaker said go with the blue it will be perfect in conjunction with the guages he said.
07-01-2013, 05:54 PM
i know plasma has nothing to do with leds what i meant was swap out the stock bulbs for some high quality led ones
Don't worry about what I'm doing, I want you to worry about what you're doing
07-01-2013, 05:58 PM
But why swap them when they're no longer needed?
Just remove them and save more weight. Not as much as that carpet, but weight's weight
07-01-2013, 06:09 PM
how will his warning lights come on with no sort of bulb?
Don't worry about what I'm doing, I want you to worry about what you're doing
07-01-2013, 06:10 PM
ok Mr Pedant, you want him to make all his warning lights blue, so by the time they get through the coloured filters they come out murky purple and can't be seen?
Technically all he needs is the STAHP! light anyway

stick with blue with decent leds means stick with blue and use decent leds. It doesn't mean light up the plasma's with blue leds lol plasma's have their own wiring

I think we've confirmed you should have the lights blue. Or was it yellow. I'm not 100% sure...
