Here is my project thread mirrored from "the other side". I think ill continue to update it on here though cause no one seems to give a shit.
Well got another dturbo as some may know a silver xrdt. Me and my misses have decided to call it silver fox. Got it from blackburn for 350 tax and tested. Has a few problems such as a pressurising cooling system front electric windows don't work and the central locking bounces back. Can't really complain for what I paid. Will create a check list and update this thread accordingly when I'm on the pc also will get some pictures on.

T-Cut some of the scratches out.

UPDATE:
Engine is coming out on the 18th november. Head is coming off and going for a skim then a new head gasket set is going on. While its out a new water pump cambet kit, aux belt and alt are going on and is having a full service. Also bosch is going on while its out and having a good clean. Hopefully it will be back in by the sunday all running sweet. Will take some pics while were in the process.
UPDATE: 19/11/2011
Head came back today nice shiny and new. We managed to snap the bolt on the drivers side sub frame but we have made a new mounting bolt to hold it in place. Found out its running a KKK which is a shame but i dont really have any luck with the Phase 1's in the turbo department. Everythings all cleaned off and we have started to rebuild the engine. Just the inlet and turbo to go back on then we will lock it out and retime it and then the bosch injectors are going in and then it should be ready to put back in tomorrow afternoon.
UPDATE 08/01/2012:
Well its been eventful with this car, engine mount decided to destroy the mount point in the chassis but i here this is pretty common. So that has been welded up but has started knocking its cock off again (Back to the drawing board). May even buy one of those kits off the GTI 6 forums. Other than the engine mount everything seems fine, still bits and bobs to do which are mainly electronic such as the central locking and windows. Going to buy a pully, woodruff and a bolt from pug for the bosch pump and refit it why not at £37. Going to replace each side of the suspension and steering within the next week, both track rods drop links and wishbones. Hopefully i can grab some lazers aswell just waiting for a reply. Going to be getting a full GTI 6 brake set up including the rear beam and I am also thinking about getting an exhaust to stick on to free up some air flow! I imagine its probably time for it to be changed as it looks like its been on since 1996!

UPDATE 21/01/2012:
Well collected some more parts such as a full GTI6 brake set up, new front struts, track rod ends, drop links, a boost guage and discs and pads for the beam.
Will be cracking on fitting some of this stuff tmorrow as now im going to FCS for the frist time i want it to be ready!
