Ok so couple more small jobs ticked off. Rebuilt the rear brakes today. Again for mot prep. Found were the gators were partially damaged the drivers calliper had siezed on the sliders. Genterly lifted the gators and shat aload of copperslip under there. Proceeded to free it off and seems to have done the job. Tempory measure to pass mot as thinking of getting another calliper as a slider kit is the price of one.
Re-undersealed the boot again. Attacked the surface rust with a wire brush and unleashed a can of comma underseal under there and then sprayed a spare can of hammerite over the top to seal it in. Think in the future thia is gonna need a wire brush on a drill and aggresivley attacking as surface blisters are now forming
Ended up scraping the egt gauge off. Wouldnt work at all no matter how it was wired. Just read a constant 200° which it reads as soon as you switch ignition live on. I know it wasnt in the correct place but still would expect it to increase even if it read wrong. Began re-plumbing in the boost gauge as found the original silicone i fitted had split on the long route i had fitted it in (passanger foot well grommet up through dash) and have now taken it neatly through the top of the bay
Moving the manual boost controller to inside the car aswell. Just waiting on the new one to arrive
While in the bay found the gash garden hose i was using on the expansion tank had been leaking so fitted some nice silicone inplace too and hose clamped it
