I'm not so sure... unless you have special "like for like" insurance, mods aren't actually covered by insurance anyway... just need to be declared/push the price up (with some companies).
When I declared stuff with Brent, I said I had a spoiler which wasn't fitted yet but will be soon. He said "well we may as well chuck that on now too then". So, I dunno! I can't see too many issues presenting themselves for having too much declared...
