Hi guys, just fitting two bilstein dampers (306 gti fitment) to a rear axle (new IM axle set up for zx volcane) and the dampers seem to be about 10mm too short. Maybe my fault, as I took a punt on 306/zx parts being interchangeable, or is there something I'm likely to be doing wrong? I'm certain that if i compress the axle this will then allow the dampers to be fitted, but then it would be the dampers holding the axle's spring tension, stopping it from fully relaxing, and possibly damaging the damper. What do you guys think? Is there a difference in the rear beam setups between the two cars, or is it possible that the axle is set too high?
