haha.. bought my first drill today, at the ripe old age of 30 <cough> something!
My arms where aching from using the wirebrush, thought it might help speed things up
When it came off the engine:

After a little elbow grease:

OK so I might have gone a little overboard with the wirebrush and drill

Also picked up some metallic red paint, thought i might use it on the manifold - not sure about it:

I'm certainly going to give it a good wash down, plus I've spotted a few rusty patches which will need looking at.
So probably once I've cleaned it that'll be a yes

On another note, thought I recognise the pair of pugs, I drive past everyday, caught the corner of my eye when sat in traffic! If you need a pair of extra hands mate give me a shout, probably deemed useless working on cars lol but would be interesting and good for me to learn lol
