This did come in quite harsh it would cheap to 15 or so then get a big kick to 35. As said rod belts fine the bottom end of the rod is still on the crank it broke the rod off top and bottom so there is nothing there just the 2 bearing ends.
Was in the dilemma of putting another standard engine in with another baby coming and now needing a car for work I can't be doing with it been so unreliable so payed Chris a visit and came back with a 2.1 running a GT23v
sure most are familiar with his estate on here anyway.
