saving the red rallye

Hi just joined but am 306gti6.com member love this car glad I saved it!!!

It came to me in a very sorry state bought for 350 from ebay with a seized engine,due to water damage (6 bent valves and bent rod lol good effort!!)

I already owned a onyx black six which I loved and rebuilt the engine on last February after the hg started to fail and had beem sweet ever since. Pics of the onyx 6....




was nice I loved it but I broke it for parts and used the engine forthe rallye...this is how the rallye arrived and how it looked after a couple of hours!!









then stripping it....



the water sat in the inlet...


made me laugh that did






Also engine mount cradle was absolutely shot too



Then I spent hours taking back to clean steel and using de-ox gel etc etc..






Few pics of that I redid the whole engine bay and inner archs on the front in stone chip shield,cherry red then lacquer then a clear wax coat few more pics. .










Refitted engine a put back together this is how she stands now.....
