More done today.
Firstly, i only realised the other day i had a gear box to go in with the engine that looked a state so would be a shame to bolt that to a nice clean engine.

Got that all painted up, everything bolted back on. Just got to fit the new seals and release arm bearings and thats ready to go.
Also got my ICV all sorted. Originally i was going to not bother with one and just use spark scattering to control idle but theres only so far you can go with that and don't want to be holding the throttle when the cars cold.
I bought a remote 2 pin one from a Volvo but this was no good to use with my ECU so just decided to stick with the standard one.

Now it just needs plumbing into the inlet pipe and job done with that.
Also got my boost pipe routing planned out now and intercooler mounted.

Mounted to radiator. Passenger side, the IC has a rear outlet that passes the rad perfectly so then can just go straight up to the throttle body but the drivers side was always going to be hard due to the inlet coming out the top at a 45 degree angle. So, whilst trying to work out where this pipe could go, i realised there was a perfect boost pipe sized hole in-between the lower rad hose and bottom of the expansion bottle so its going through there bringing it out directly below the charger so the overall length of pipes and joins is kept quite low.
only issue is getting a 180 degree bend on this...

Im going to order a 180 degree silicone hose and see if i can get it tight enough on that.
Now just to get two tabs welded onto the IC so i can mount the oil cooler on top and jobs a good'en.
