Personally, I would balance it. 7000 - 8000rpm is a fair amount of revs if things are out of balance, worth doing IMO.
One thing to note though, don't go too light on the whole rotating assembly. I did, and had the world of problems snapping oil pump chains and having weird misfires (ecu struggling to calculate crank acceleration / lag times).
