Ive got one of the angle things, but never used it...i just do it in steps of 90, its not exactly hard to follow 90 degrees, simply start, pick your finish point at right angles and follow to it, then add a 45 / 90 as required.

This is what we did in the garage as all engines are torqued down when built-can't see pug farting around with angles etc when building them
