Last Tuesday I went and swapped Linzi for a 406 HDi, I need a heavier car to tow the hillclimber with, and the 406 fitted the bill nicely!
It's a boggo spec HDi 90, and it's really comfortable, just wafts along in a very average manner. I'd never have one as an only car, it's too boring. But for commuting and motorways, it's very nice
I doubled (literally) the performance last night, thought I'd check the air filter and found this under it. Removed it to be left with a normal paper filter and have been rewarded with the ability to accelerate!
There are some issues though, the rear suspension needs major adjustment, I don't think anything's actually broken, it's just been stuck together by someone who didn't understand what they were doing. Resulting in the rear tyres looking like this
Also, I checked the ECU to be presented with this:
So I'm looking at other fuel delivery options, coupled with the intercooler off a 110 model. I'm not wanting big power, but 140 would be nice, especially as it'll be a towbus.
