Well that went well... the battery is completely flat. Presume the PS2 got left on over night 
Its on charge now so hopefully it will work later. Whoever designed the HDi battery box was obviously a moron. On the 1.8 there was a bar you had to unbolt from across the top of the battery. On the HDi its bolted at the base so Ive just had to use a socket and all my extensions to get to it!
