At least an XUD does it properly, a HDi you'll have a thousand fault codes, need a new lift pump, need a new FRPS, injectors rattling, immobiliser deicded to forget itself etc etc.
If you can name a rod being bust on an XUD below 140hp in the past year I'll be impressed... It's so uncommon in the grand scheme of things... There's a thread near enough weekly on a HDi not starting..

as Niall said when he plugged pp2000 in the ecu was nearly full. After a quick wipe and cleaning fpr haven't had any engine problems since.But once you go over 140.. then you're in rod territory? Once you go there with hdi worst people seem to get is a cut out which is like rod throwing but without the Mario kart oil slick
And yes we may need new lift pumps now and then but it beats a warped head now does it haha
