Little update.

Just general maintenance has swallowed up most of the money I would have spent on the car, it had to have a new driveshaft the other week, then two new rear shock absorbers. Happy days.

Now the clutch has gone, so even more needs spending!

One thing that has always bothered me when looking around in the boot is that the boot insulation is f*cked, it's hard in places and bits keep falling off it. So I removed it.

Looked like this



Fitted a new boot mat over the existing grey mat, which I kept in to help act as a bit of a sound deadener -



Also fitted GTi6 boot trim a while ago which you can see in that pic.

Dewipered the rear end, but the nut was on solid and didn't want to risk breaking the rear window. I know I'm not going to re-fit the rear wiper motor so I took a hacksaw to it -



Then fitted a slightly different from the norm blanking plug -



Done the Fog-flash mod -


Put the button RIGHT where the steering column adjuster is like a f*cking knob, so that might have to go in future and be relocated.

Feels so much better to hold.

Also made attempt number 3 at trying to make the boost gauge vacuum hose stay on the nipple, fecking thing. Now has a fuel pipe clam around it, fingers crossed...

Just need to repair or replace the small piece of trim which is on the passenger side wing, which you can see is missing on this photo -
