Been after a China GTi for quite a while now, and this one came up cheap a few months back with some accident damage. So I had to snap it up. Will be the 10th 306 that I have put on the road for my own use and hopefully the last.
Cost me £400 for a car that was immaculate bar the bumper, cross member rad etc.
Under 100k, Full History, mint interior, properly looked after.
Only pic that there is of it not long after I picked it up and ripped out the gash angel eyes.
Next to set about fixing the bent cross member, I drilled out all the spot welds and removed the bent panels. I removed the same parts from a car that I was breaking at the time then welded it back together.
Somewhere along the way the clones have been sold and lazers put on as temp wheels, the half leathers sold and my blue carpet and full Ph1 leathers fitted along with ph1 gti door cards, ph1 top glove box. Also fitted a set of Black masks too.
Been busy today fitting my Magnex and the front bumper back on with blanks and a splitter.
Which is where the car stands atm.
Plans are;
Weller steels 8.5x15 front and 9x15 rears, 195/45 tyres (winter/daily setup)
Compomotive TS 8x16 and 9x16 with 195/40 Contis (sumer/show set)
Cambered fully rebuilt rear beam, with 23.5mm TB's, 30mm ARB and solid mounts
Rich W Wishbone Bushes
205 GAZ GHA Coilovers with eccentric topmounts
Rose jointed drop links
Different spoiler
Lightened fly, new clutch etc
Lightened aux pully
BMC CDA to replace the K&N thats on there ATM
Metal Monkey Dials
Auto Dim Mirror
Decent Audio setup

Indeed it was a bargain as it stands without the modified parts it owes me £190!
Shouldnt take to long to get most of it sorted, as I've pretty much all of it bar the suspension.

If it doesn't pass there is no point taking it, as one of the conditions of a VIC is a valid MOT certificate, not to mention the fact it must move under its own power.

Be very interested to see this on wellers. Ive been looking for a set for a while to put on my 6 but wasnt sure if 15's would fit over the front brakes? I bought some 15" borbet a replicas and they were to small. So bought some genuine 16's and they only just fit with small adaption.

No mot is required for the vic, its only required if you want to drive the car there.
Yes the car must move under its own power

Not a lots been happening with this recently, lazers are gone for a set of steels.
But the parts stash for this has been growing.
Recent additions include AVO coilovers, 205 ecentric topmounts, PhillipM droplinks, 30mm ARB, 23mm TB's, lightened flywheel, new clutch, BMC CDA, Cambelt, Rallye aux belt pullys, new mirrors, solid beam mounts.
Lowering should be happening as soon as I can get some upper spring pans made up for the topmounts. Everything else will be going in when the engines changed, but waiting on a VTS rack and 22mm front ARB first.

Holy f*ck, such an amazing pile of shinies!
Am loving my AVOs, hope they live up to expectations. Have you had 205 topmounts before, do they all fit up ok?

Had the matrix go on me on Monday so a new one along with a new bonnet cable have been fitted as the old one was toast.
Also fitted the decat and loving the rasp, pops and bangs too!
More parts have been acquired now also. Inc Rich W wishbone bushes, painted up the wishbones for them too, and a 22mm front ARB. New Lemforder ball joints, track rods and track rod arms will be being ordered Saturday also. Spring pans will be ordered on Monday too, so the car should be lowered in the next couple of weeks.
Wellers have been sold and new wheels ordered for this season then to be my winters in 8 and 9x16, due here for the second week in April. Going to look savage!
Just need to pull my fingers out and get parts fitted and find the cash to pay for the parts that are required.

Time for a update on this I suppose.
Fitted most of my suspension the other day as the handling was appalling (had non pas bj's on it) and this has transformed the car.
parts fitted were,
AVO coilovers with 275lb springs, 205 eccentric topmounts, rich w wishbones, gen pug bj's, PhillipM droplinks, solid rear beam mounts and 23.5mm torsion bars onto a checked over beam.
Also visited Colin at Pug Performance for a Xsara rack and picked up some tints too
Just put some 'clones back on as the steels were looking like slicks, and I havent a clue when my wheels will be turning up.
