Well worth inspecting that end of the engine.
I did similar back in the day on my GTi6 as it rattled a lot and I was worried. Removed the aux belt, started it up and it was silent. So I put it down to a worn roller/tensioner on the aux belt area.
Not sure why it'd come and go so much though, usually they come/go when hot/cold.
Did you do the cambelt etc, or someone else? Was it a Dayco kit? Well worth having a check if it's still a bit noisy/rattly after aux belt off test... just visual inspect nothing has gone wrong.
I'm sure it'll be fine though, Peugeots rattle, if it's not the injectors it's the lower pulley or some other common rattly part
