Right then, well over due an update so here's some pics of it mounted to my spare engine. Bear in mind it's not finished yet as I was just trying to find the best postion so it clears everything.

Due to a slight error the angle of the turbo will have to sit leaning to the right slightly, does this mean it wont mount on to the exhaust?
P.S does anyone know how to change the title of this thread as it's not a hybrid thread anymore..

Could make the exhaust a farse fella, probs have to cut the downpipe / spin it a bit and weld it up to get away with it, might be able to spin on the joint and run whole downpipe and funny angle, but probs foul linkages etc....id try and straighten it up a bit if I was you...

It's the shape of the plate which has caused it so it match's up with holes. The other option would be to make new holes and tap a thread in the fanimold but i'm worried about it weakening it causing it to crack. It will hopefully only need 1 extra hole.

As Darren has said, it will make fitting the exhaust a bit of a nightmare I noticed that it was on an angle but was at work and for whatever reason didn't reply to your thread! To change the thread title if you go to the first post and click "Edit" at the bottom you should be able to change the title and that will change the thread title

Cheers Mark. I have got the turbo to manifold holes drilled yet, if you look closely you can see the molegrips holding it in place

Winnar!!!
IMHO you should just remove the stock Peugeot downpipe, weld on a 90* mandrel and then just get a sleeve section and clamp that on... Essentially what I did with the VNT...

Overkilled but will do the job nicely

are you going to be able to get the exhaust downpipe spring loaded bolts on there?
06-06-2012, 09:22 PM
Doubtfull, nothing a grinder and welder can't fix though, that's how mine was fitted.
On the 306 waiting list.

The picture looks worse than it is...goes to check....might need a slight grind
Cheers for pointing that out, it didn't occur at the time. Hopefully I'll be fitting it friday. I've got a rolling road session booked in for saturday so I might have to cancel it and do another when it's set-up properly.

Oooo turbo porn! Good work fella! What are you hoping for on the dyno, 180ish?
07-06-2012, 04:56 PM
Don't know what to expect TBH. Anything over 155 and i'd be happy. Even if I get 170bhp it will be nearly 200BHP per tonne which is only a few do2wn from the new Focus RS hock:
This weathers looking pretty shit for a turbo change

dont leave the nylock nuts on, as the turbo warms them up they will loosen as the plastic softens-------motor factors usually keep boxes of brass locking nuts; they are mis-shaped so they bite onto thread as it passes through them.

Thanks for that daddfixit.
I've been attacking it with an angle grinder after work as I realised a few bit where'nt seating right. Glad I spotted that as it wouldn't of been fun finding it leaking on the car! Also ground away that spacer near the down pipe bolt hole so it fits in easily. Just praying on the weather now

A few teething issues but but she's goes, considering it's a full turn out on the fuel screw, exhaust pipe not connected properly and a boost leak, it does go.
