Bein weird, high bitting point, and if you drive normally, then put your foot down, it revs like a bitch instead of gaining any speed. The once it's reached around 6k the car kinda feels like it remembers what a throttle peddle is :/
What the f*ck is it?

Has Fooby been driving it? If so then it's definitely the clutch.

I reckon we could do it ourselves (with Curt's help if he's free) so you'd only need the parts! Could try giving GSF a call, or Midnight Motors in Wembley (0208 9033388) as if you're doing it at Curt's I can go pick it up and meet you there.

It's a bitch to drive, trying to get it to go anywhere, you boot it and it goes no where

Defo sounds like a slipping clutch, clutches for those should be pretty cheap but petrol and matches would be cheaper

Realised last night while driving it that it's in every gear, you have to build up gradual speed rev it too about 2k in each gear and it fine, once it goes past 2k or putting foot down it goes nuts!

Any car can have a slipping clutch if the friction material has been suitably glazed (from riding the clutch etc) or just through wear and tear.

It was quite a high bitting point when we got it, and very stiff. I thought it needed a new clutch anyway lol just never experience this myself

It's a Clio. It's shit!
Nah clutch is definitely slipping. Chances are its worn out (being at the hands of a women driver *awaits abuse*) but do check for leaky crank seal or dodgy clutch cable (don't think the clios are hydraulic are they?)

Leaky crank seal rairly causes a clutch to slip as engine oil is expelled fairly quickly by the heat. Gear oil, now thats a different story.

Have fun getting the driveshafts out - IIRC they've got little locking pins where they go into the gearbox
