Gfs clio - Matt - 17-12-2011 Bein weird, high bitting point, and if you drive normally, then put your foot down, it revs like a bitch instead of gaining any speed. The once it's reached around 6k the car kinda feels like it remembers what a throttle peddle is :/ What the f*ck is it? Re: Gfs clio - Scott - 17-12-2011 French? Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 17-12-2011 Haha yes, and before anyone says it, it's a Clio haha Re: Gfs clio - 4WayDiablo - 17-12-2011 Clutch slipping? Re: Gfs clio - jo3 - 17-12-2011 i would say that was your clutch slipping, when was the clutch last done?, get a new clutch and new pressure plate an thrust bearing, cant really tell with out actully being there but at a guess i would say that, Re: Gfs clio - Scott - 17-12-2011 Has Fooby been driving it? If so then it's definitely the clutch. Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 17-12-2011 A slipping clutch? How much will that cost to fix? It's a 1.2 16v :/ Re: Gfs clio - Scott - 17-12-2011 I reckon we could do it ourselves (with Curt's help if he's free) so you'd only need the parts! Could try giving GSF a call, or Midnight Motors in Wembley (0208 9033388) as if you're doing it at Curt's I can go pick it up and meet you there. Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 17-12-2011 Sounds like fun. I'll ask curt of he's up so it, It's a bitch to drive, trying to get it to go anywhere, you boot it and it goes no where Re: Gfs clio - Atterz - 17-12-2011 Just drop the box of yourself, it aint that hard! Re: Gfs clio - Dum-Dum - 18-12-2011 Defo sounds like a slipping clutch, clutches for those should be pretty cheap but petrol and matches would be cheaper Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 18-12-2011 Realised last night while driving it that it's in every gear, you have to build up gradual speed rev it too about 2k in each gear and it fine, once it goes past 2k or putting foot down it goes nuts! Re: Gfs clio - Midnightclub - 18-12-2011 All that insane low down torque making it slip mate! Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 18-12-2011 Haha obvisously. Although in seriousness I though clutch slip was down to big power! Re: Gfs clio - Midnightclub - 18-12-2011 Matt Wrote:Haha obvisously. Although in seriousness I though clutch slip was down to big power! Or female drivers... Re: Gfs clio - Atterz - 18-12-2011 Any car can have a slipping clutch if the friction material has been suitably glazed (from riding the clutch etc) or just through wear and tear. Re: Gfs clio - mark_airey - 18-12-2011 Matt Wrote:Haha obvisously. Although in seriousness I though clutch slip was down to big power! Or a worn out/abused clutch Re: Gfs clio - Matt - 18-12-2011 It was quite a high bitting point when we got it, and very stiff. I thought it needed a new clutch anyway lol just never experience this myself Re: Gfs clio - Connor - 18-12-2011 Or the crank seal could be starting to leak, is it loosing any oil? Re: Gfs clio - Niall - 18-12-2011 It's a Clio. It's shit! Nah clutch is definitely slipping. Chances are its worn out (being at the hands of a women driver *awaits abuse*) but do check for leaky crank seal or dodgy clutch cable (don't think the clios are hydraulic are they?) Re: Gfs clio - Fooby - 19-12-2011 Scott Wrote:Has Fooby been driving it? Gear oil, now thats a different story. Re: Gfs clio - hbomb1905 - 19-12-2011 Have fun getting the driveshafts out - IIRC they've got little locking pins where they go into the gearbox |
