Astor 3DR HDI Project
#1
Currently taking a step out the VAG world and have bought a Astor 306 HDI,

Plan is to get everything on it sorted before I start driving it, as its currently a third car.

James (who I believe is a member on here) kindly picked the car up from the seller for me, gave it the once over and even cleaned it as the seller made no effort at all. Turned the boost down as it was running far to high and made it right for the 300+ mile drive home.

So flew up north yesterday to fetch it, drove home fairly well and generally happy with it other than a couple niggly bits,
Currently sat at Darren's waiting for the engine to be removed so I can clean up the bay and give it the once over.
Front end needs sorting so will be on the look out for a new front bumper/grille and bonnet.
Going to try and get it back to a clean OEM standard.
I'll post up a current spec list on the next post,
For now, here's a couple photos

Nice purchase i would say, saw this on facebook and didn't think it looked too bad for the money considering the spec list on it. Nice to see it has made it down to this part of the country.

The previous owner wasn't, but it may have been in the past perhaps?

It was more than I was looking to pay for a 306 but got a couple hundred off so not too bad.

Definitely needs a bigger bore exhaust, after following James back from picking it up it sounded shit! Needs a backbox to tune the noise into something more win

Update:
Engine out, taking back the rusty metalwork and now repainting, have run out of paint so only done half for now,
The bank holidays screwed it up as waiting for numerous bits in the post, including the paint [emoji1361]
Also painted a calliper gold, turned out to be more of a baby poo yellow so now back to red Smile
