Ok, if you HAVE to get the springs and dampers from the same supplier then it be 230.

Front and rear B4 set, ebay no: 251611092572
Apex 30mm springs: 280712888769
(They list xsi/1.8 16v springs for a few quid cheaper (54) for some reason the 6 ones a 57)

With the way that 80's hot hatch prices are going at the moment, that's a pretty penny that you're sitting on right there!

I picked up a bargain set of wilwoods midilite calipers last night, been trying to buy them for months and he finally caved! Already on peugeot adapters and complete with discs & pads. Brakes haven't even done 200 miles!

Of course i couldn't resist bolting them up for a trial fitting!

Also got the rear caliper carriers all shined up and painted high temp black.

Yeah but buying vht in "that bronze colour" isn't easy.

I'll take black over garish red or yellow

Now for the major update.. As we all know the car has been laid up for nearly 2 years now with massive rust issues! Well my welding guy FINALLY had time to fit me in and make a start Smile i made sure he has plenty to keep him going but it should be all sorted very soon! Very very pleased with the progress now.

There's a guy on the gti6 forum who sells reproduction ones as well.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

THE WELDING IS DONE! Big Grin

Progress is going to be thick and fast on this now its solid enough for me to really jack it up and get cracking with refurbishment.

Piccys: Please do remember that this guy is doing it on the cheap for me on his back in a confined space on a car thats only just off the floor on halfords axle stands!

There is a 3mm thick strenghening plate in there for the jacking point as i despise the look of factory jacking points that hang down and bend when you use them which cracks the seam sealer thus leading to the root cause of my rust issues in the first place!

List of jobs before FCS now stands at: (in no particular order)

- Axle change
- Clean, seal and paint underside & arches
- Braided brake lines
- Refit sideskirts
- Refit fuel tank and braided fuel lines
- Fit wilwoods
- Replace cambelt
- Refurb rear calipers
- Engine & box oil change
- Refit sony stereo & connect2 adapter
- Deep wash & thorough polish / valet interior

Plenty to keep me going but all that i can sort myself its just the welding thats been holding me back all this time Smile

Congratulations on the car Matt, it's looking amazing.

For the rest of you guys on here, I'm the former owner of this money pit! I had the car from 07 to 13, I've tracked it and Ringed it, that's the reason I bought the thing. Escalating milage and bills caused me to part ways with it, I part exed it for a red R26 with MCR Specialist Cars in the end, it was a very emotional parting of ways but I'm so glad the car has landed with someone who can look after it during the next phase of it's life.

If anyone is interested, this is an old vid of the car at a rolling road day:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AufaJ8uZa7g

I'll be sending Matt some photos of what it looked like before adding almost 100k miles to it.

Matt
