Looking at painting a spoiler i have, matt black, to be similar to a standard spoiler, refurbed look.
is there any recommended pre-paint coat to use?
any recommendations for after paint product?

assuming tiger seal will work fine to stick it down

Just flat it back, use some grey plastic primer then Matt black paint. Simples!

Tiger seal will be fine but make sure you tape it well while it's drying. Your f*cked if it slips lol

When I had mine done they used some rubberised primer can't for the life of me remember what it's called think it was from the plastikote range it's got some give for painting flexible parts so the paint don't crack

Thought id revive this - save making a new one..

So i've attached my spoiler, matt black ofcourse, and it's been on there with masking tape now for a good 3 or 4 hours.

How long should i leave the masking tape on for - plenty of tiger seal on which i was suggested to do the job!

It's also been in the sun'ish for the majority of that time?

Should be after 24 hours. Was the paint properly dry when you glued it on? Mine fell off on the motorway as the tigerseal was strong but the paint hadnt cured enough and all flaked off

the paint has been on there for.... 5/6 weeks
also where the old spoiler was screwed on, i filled the old holes with tiger seal to "act" as nails across the spoiler

previoous adhesives tend to dry with a small amount of movement..

no it came FROM a drilled boot, but it had been drilled through the glass, and the bolts were in horrendous condition - to find the correct bolts, drill the correct holes, keep a window intact etc etc... i found tigerseal a lot easier and quicker.
