Yeah the ride is quite nice actually. Not really been fan in it yet, only done about 5-10mile since fitting them but much more comfy than coilovers

Well thought i would trail fit my driver side bucket seat. The seat is nice and low but too far over to the right as it doesnt sit in front off the steering wheel. Its not far off but may have to drill new holes. I have used omp base mounts for a change instead of welding rails in for when i decide i want the standard seats back in.

Daaaaaayyyymn!
very nice! Never understood why the rallye came with abs. Just get some none abs brake lines Wishes for more power...
30-03-2015, 10:01 PM
I have a set of braided brake lines from master cylinder to calipers for the front just not got round to fitting them. Need to order a new bias valve before i make new rear lines too.
Yeah a cage would be nice same. No hurry for that just yet tho

Bit of a step back but my engine threw a rod on friday night so pocked up a new bottom end yesterday along with a nice cheap 306 D.Turbo run around while i sort the rallye

Shit news about the engine
Knowing you though it'll be back on the road pretty soon. Astor 6 Fast road/track project

Gona keep it off the road till the end of the month probably and get a few bits done on it. Build a new engine back up, clean the engine, fit braided lines, new axle, 25.5mm ARB 21mm torsion bars, new discs and pads, heater matrix and bucket seats maybe

Bet that made a noise !
What's the plan for the rebuilt? Astor 6 Fast road/track project
I was just on my way home from work friday night only work 3 mile from ho e and got less than half way home then all of a sudden from nowhere was KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK BANG! Car dies and loads of snoke out the back. Knew straight away what had happened bud didnt think it would be that bad.
New plan for the engine now is to just build an engine out of what i have. I have 2 bottom ends and a head. I know 1 bottom end is good and unknown on the other one. The head i will be taking to engine services when i get a chance to be skimmed and tested then also might do the rings on my good bottom end just for safe measures. Anyway today i didnt have the hoist till late on so got in from work about 2.30pm and decided to pull the dash out as my heater matrix was broke so the previous owner said anyway. I was going to replace the matrix and new pipes as old pipes have been cut but after pricing it all up it wont be much more to buy a kit car matrix and just run that as there just small and light and should be enough to demist the windscreen and warm the car through. While the dash was out i thought i would remove all the heavy sound proof crap from behind it and pull the heater box out. Then moved onto the bulk head under the scuttle. Pulled off all the sound proofing and painted it then was time to put it all back together. Thats it for today. Engine out tomorrow.

Just had a brief read of this mate shitter about the engine but seems like you know what your doing so hopefully you will have it back up and running sooner rather than later
17-04-2015, 04:03 AM
Thanks mate am just going to plod in. Aim is to have it sorted by the end of the month. Got afew bits and bobs to buy for it yet
18-04-2015, 09:54 AM
Yesterday i got the engine out. Had to pull the long drive shaft to bits tho as the 11mm nuts had rounded off in the mount so couldnt get them out! Then removed the front brake lines and replaced them with a set of braided ones i had off my last gti6 and fitted my electric power steering pump too. Need to get a joint made up for the power steering feed and some rubber hose for the return then i can plumb it all in. Next job it to move the fuse box off the passenger side, either into the wing or if i can be bothered to behind the dash in the car.
My spare heads going into engine services on monday to make sure everythings ik and get a little skimmed off it, i have a good bottom end here so hopefully get my engine built up next week ready to be back on the road next weekend

Got a good few bits and bobs done over the last couple of days.
1st off i moved the fuse box off the passenger chassis lug to under the passenger chassis leg under the wheel arch liner. Should be fine there i hope. wiring is all covered now too. Electric PAS is all wired up too. Made up my own PAS pipe and took it to my local hydraulic place to crinp the pipes on. Made up of using half the saxo pas pipe and half the rallye pas pipe Next it i got the grinder out. Sorry for all you lot who said leave it alone but i couldnt :lmao 2.5kg removed from the bonnet, Aero catches should be here soon to be fitted. Gave it a coat of paint so looks half decent now too ECU box got cut down and bolted to the passenger chassis leg and oil catch tank bolted to the ECU box. no pics of that yet, got dark
Wow trackcar in the making

Few more bits and bobs done today. Bought a load a rubber hase for the pas return pipe, oil catch tank and to replace the pipes from the servo to vacuum pump. Cut a new facia out, chopped the bumper support, cut the engine mount down as i dont need the pas brackets on there any more and painted a few bits ready for the new engine tomorrow hopefully.
