Was gonna go alfa then ford is the alfa was a no go. But now im having thoughts about the ford and that 1.8 engine! It really was gutless and im wondering if it should be like that!

Go for the alfa
We went from a Mondeo 2.0 tdci ghia x to an alfa 156 2.4 20valve 175 jtdm
And in all aspects the alfa was head and shoulders above the Mondeo
In the three years we had the only things it needed was a pair of wishbones one side and a thermostat, it was a Gm engine so parts are easy to get
We have now sold that and a saab 9-3 ttid 180 and again that sits up another level over the alfa
