Eddy's Red Rallye
#1
Yes here we go again! Yet another eddy project! :lmao
Well as most of you know i picked up my rallye last night. It needed a water pump as it had been over heated but decided i would pull the engine out and do the head gasket to be safe and check the head too.
Been busy this week working on a mates rallye so thought since i put a bit time into his i would do the same with mine. Plan is to pull the engine out, pressure wash the engine bay and clean up the patches where the paint has started flaking off. Am not going to go into a load of boring detail but the engine is ready to lift out tomorrow morning as its now time to get ready to go to top gear live in newcastle.
Heres the car anyway

Well thats the engine out. I will strip that tomorrow S its been crap weather today, soaked right through but most of that was off the pressure washer :lol cleaned up the engine bay a little. Quite pleased with how well it has come out to be honest, was expecting to find a load of crappy bits what was going to need painting ect... but its not too bad really.
Got new head gasket, bolts and timing belt to pick up tomorrow then i can make a start on fixing the engine and hopefully have it back in tomorrow and back on all 4 wheels then its ready for its MOT.

Got the engine back in, pulled the head off today and checked it with a straight edge and and all seemed good put a new head gasket on, just went for a fibre fai one as was easy and saved waiting to get a mls one. New head bolts and water pump gone on so just hope its all ok. Dark now but got my light out to get the shafts and exhaust back on and hopefully get the front end on too

Haha i will try keep this one.
Well thats the car all back together, cars only running on 3 cylinders, has a f*cked coil pack so need to hunt out my box of spares and replace that. Fitted a nissens rad to replace the crappy black steel one and fitted my pro race 3s and 2 of the cyclones have punctures. Just about ready to go for its MOT now.

Finally got some time to day yo do some of the crappy jobs on the rallye today! Had to pull the facia off as some previous owner must have been f*cking of with the heater controls and some of the cables were off the back so i couldnt change the blowers or the temperature. Had a right chow on getting the cables back where the go but i got there in the end with a shit load of cuts and scratches on my hands. Also changed all the bulbs while i had it to bits as they didnt work either.
Been on all week sorting a mates diablo GTi6 out to sell but all is well and sold it wednesday.

Well my crystals finaly turned up saturday so gave me something to do masking them up and fitting them. Today i got rid of the ABS. 1 thing i dont like is ABS its just pointless and more weight Sad so just done a quick bend the standard brake pipes and fit them into the T piece till i can be bothered to make up some new like. I do have a set of braided front lines from the master cylinder to the flexis but dont know if i want to use them or just make up all new copped lines.
Picked up a set of 45mm eibach lowering springs yesterday so will get them fitted this week along with lowering the rear axle.
