yes it was a good upgrade for me, as the old p bush's were saggy!
the car now has stopped wondering and goes where you point it, which is a bonus.
i still get lift of oversteer but its a little more prodictable, fingers crossed the solid rear mounts will limit that too once fitted Smile

OK thanks, I'm going to have a look at my current P bushes at the weekend to see how urgently I need them. There's a dodgy knocking sound coming from that area and I'm suspecting them. Depends when you'll be braking as to whether I can wait..

Shame it's come to scrapping it. Surely you can keep the most valuable parts you don't have to scrap the lot.. When Jake scrapped his we completely stripped it. Didn't even have a rear beam left the guy had to drag it onto his trailer!

It at zachs at the moment so no stripping there, then it's being brought to cheddar and no breaking can be done in my friends yard due to the council. Complete interior, alloys and the strut brace and a few other things will be removed, I really cannot be bothered with it any more - lost faith Sad

had my little helper with me today
he was helpfull between chillin with his tunzs

[attachment=15555]

had the opertunity to get the car on a ramp to check over befor the ring trip
good job i did
O/side front wheel bearing had play in it
this is the bearing that was changed for last MOT Sad not happy it didnt last 5k miles
but was a good excuss to change to my nicely referbed 18mm front hubs

[attachment=15556]

am glad i did this now as when i went to change the N/side the bearing in there was dog rough so in all was a good job

now the car has new 18mm b/J's and new front bearings just need to replace the O/side ABS sensor as it would not come out the old hub, have a spare in the garage so that for tomorrow

now its CIDER time!

as most already know ive been to nurburgring in this car
had a truely epic week there

i drove 4 laps of the ring not having study'd the track nor practiced on a games console i managed a very respectable 10:04 lap

ignor the tyre rubbing on the rear arch liners due to the back being to low for the competition tyres

i will post the photos ive found from track photographers here too

as for top speed i think i hit 120mph on the long back straight but to be honest i was more interested in hanging on to the track and watching for faster cars behind than watching the speedo
i didnt grab 6th on track but did use the full reves in 5th Wink

the cars on track were amazing if you had money you could hire them or be taken round in them
you name it it was there!
from Nobles to Mclarens to 306's the whole range

the peugeot family wernt to well represented there though their newer cars must be poor track cars as there were very few newer peugeots anywhere in germany

Should of paid to go in a 306, just for the irony

That sounds about right, I was somewhere around that in my ph.2.

French cars aren't really that popular in Germany in general, especially not 90s hatchbacks which are pretty much 50% of track day cars in the UK it seems.

Car's looking really great from the photos...glad you had some taken! I only got snapped by one when I went!
How did the car feel on track? Well-sorted? Considering doing the p-bush replacement you did.
The ring is pretty much the ultimate test of a car's set-up.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

honest answer
the car was like driving a plate of jelly on the std road tyres
but
as soon as i put on the yokos, the car was transformed into something else!
it was steddy and stable into and out of the corners the car was a lot more enjoyable to drive at speed into and out of the corners

but please rembember the car has stock dampers on the front (dont know the age) and new B4's on the back with std brakes all round

if i were to go again to the ring the thing that let the car down was the Driver! not having knowlage of the circuit with circuit knowlage and a clear track the car is more than capable of a low sub10 min lap
