Steve, sounds like you might have a binding brake.

Yep, you read that right.
Been offered the opportunity to buy a Focus ST170 estate from a mate of mine, i helped him out recently by driving it back from Nottingham after he won it at auction...he's sorted it all out now, and is ready to sell it, and is offering me first refusal. Considering i drove it on the 4 hour trip back from Nottingham, i think i've had a fair test drive, and that was a fault finding mission as it was. I must admit I did have a right laugh driving it back, and it turned out the vvti was faulty and running in a low power state, so i can see me having a lot of fun with it, with all the practicality of an estate. In fact, i was actually looking for an estate when i bought the DT, but it just turned up at the right time in the right place. So, this means i need to find out how much i might be able to get for the 306. Obviously most of you know what i've put into this car, and most of it is laid out somewhere in this thread! It's now on 126k, has tax till June, and MOT till January. Bad points are that the fuel economy is atrocious at the moment, but i'm hoping the thermostat might be a big contributing factor, which I will be changing as soon as I can actually get the right part! It's also still only got the Lucas pump, the passenger door loom has a break in it, causing the central locking to not work properly. Otherwise, it will come pretty much as you see it. I also have a set of Lasers with 3 shot tyres, and a set of 5 Ariannes with no tyres that will also be for sale, as i can't see them fitting the Focus. So, what do you guys/girls think my DT is worth? EDIT: And is anyone interested in buying it?

What mot and tax is on it? You may know what happened to my car, let's just say I dont think I'd get much more for it with tax and mot...it was a17 year old car at the end of the day
I hate to be a Debbie downer but 500? But that's 500 towards a nicer car the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...

I'm not expecting anywhere near enough to cover the whole cost of the Focus, but a lump sum towards it will ease the stress upon my wallet. This is a 2004 focus estate btw, probably should have mentioned that. Know what you mean about the mondeos though, but as I've just said to the missus, if I hadn't driven the focus back all that way, I probably wouldn't have been interested.
Kent, I got told off by my sister for not popping in for a cuppa as well, she's in Stoke.

Similar to this car?
The mondeos don't seem so long and narrow, might be why I like them . I'm very tempted now i'm in the market and have some wedge the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...

Tbh Kent, it was nearly 11pm by the time we got back as it was, took forever to sort the paperwork for the focus, so we got away from the auction place a lot later than we wanted to.
