Right ok,
So had a play with pump today because wasnt overly impressed last night. So have given it load of fuel and pulled the throttle arm forward a spline. Now its like a different car, pulls hard right through the revs. Cant say what its spooling at ( only issue yesterday was getting.rev counter to work) but id say 2500rpm roughly Really impressed so far will maybe see about getting a video of it at some point. Here's a few pics of yesterday Also fitted my rallye blanks and a new wing while front was off to tidy it up a bit. Its running 22/24 psi at.mo and.clean on boost so maybe more fuel needed Thanks to mike and Frosty for all there help too
only want a SLIGHT haze on boost...anymore and all you are doing is losing fuel and cooking your engine
what Turbo you running? PS...welcome to the moonshine XUD club Wishes for more power...

Yeah on a saab gt17, off a petrol so larger hotside hence a. Slightly 'laggier' drive pulls very well though.
Well anything would after a standard hdi for 7 months. Certainly quicker than my black dt Dw piggy im familier with setting the pumps up cheers tho

Not an update as such, just to say now done 350 miles without an issue which is fairly good going I think.
Goes well pulls quite hard compared to.what I was expecting. Seems to pressurise the top hose a bit but its.not causing any problems. Only thing is the rev counter doesnt work, its had a new.sensor and.were using the right plug on loom. It never worked in the old car either?? So I dunno whats up there, ive put ph2 dash clocks in Im suspicious as if its got.the wrong flywheel as there doesnt seem. To be a pick up on it Anyone shed any light?
What pickup are you using?
I have a ph3 and am using a xud9 pickup on the back of the flywheel, with ph2 dturbo clocks And a xud9 fly Wishes for more power...
16-03-2014, 05:51 PM
Im using the one on back of the block too, just.dunno why it wont pickup a signal
What flywheel you using?
And what loom? I found two plugs on my loom that fitted Wishes for more power...

I have no idea, the flywheel that came on the engine. I didnt take much notice to be honest.
Ph1 dt loom and have tried both plugs too.

Will have to look on the flywheel on cragis engine that I got back he and see what we can find might have to do a quick flywheel swap one weekend

Sensor is pushed in enough? sounds silly but never know...
17-03-2014, 09:13 AM
You really have to push that sensor in a long way. I've had the same issue myself.
I use a hammer to lightly tap it all the way in, and then just pull it back a hair. JP

Might of missed it but did you swap to ph2 clocks as the revs wont work on ph3 ones

Thanks for the info guys still haven't got round to looking yet
Another update, Front brakes were about shot, discs very worn and pads not far off Bought some '6 brakes from eddy gti6 on here (top bloke) The discs that come were pretty bad, but pads very good. Had an hour spare this morning so fitted them, all went together easy bleed nipples free etc Few pics And a money shot Cheers and gone

When does the GT17 come on song? I guess you're running "stage 2" kind of level fuelling..?

Yeah fuelling it fair on a 9mm pump, without a rev counter :/ Im gonna say 2200/2500 rpm so its not 'laggy' as such it is.off a petrol though so has a larger hotside which helps it keep pulling round if.u know what I mean. Im pretty impressed and id estimate 150/60 bhp so around stage 2 hdi power. Cheers trent, im really loving this car at the moment |
