So the diablo has a pretty poor patch of lacquer peel on the roof. I'm debating vinyl over it (after taking the lacquer back) or whether i should risk a full spray; reason i don't fancy a spray is becuase of poor colour match of faded diablo
anyone able to shop a black roof (matt and gloss)
Apologies for the poor pic but finding a picture of a diablo with accessible roof isn't the easiest. Can get another picture if needed.

Wet and dry it and then go over with a mop with decent heads and compounds first.

You shouldn't have a problem with colour match if you use a decent bodyshop mate, the paint supplier I use has a colour match gun which basically uses a bright light and a camera and then works out what tinters are needed to match the colour perfectly, also you may find there is "field" colours which are basically a tinted version of the original colour which is normally a faded version of the original colour.
Also you maybe able to find a vinyl company that will be able to get a very close match to your original colour if you want to go that way, anyway hope this helps mate

Ah lovely info chaps, thanks!
It's whether to fork out for quite a pricy but reputable bodyshop to match it etc, or a smaller tradesman who'd do the vinyl work of black

It's amazing what is salvageable with decent stuff. It's just worth a go before spending/doing something drastic, it'll need to be done anyway to match fresh paint.

Yea I wouldn't go matte over such a large area. Will look very 1970's and out of place!
If it must be done, gloss black. With chequers :p

photo whore.
Looks awesome though; i suppose though, if the lacquer is to be removed back to scracth anyway; perhaps it's worth spraying rather than vinyl??

If you vinyl it, a large amount of lacquer will come off when removing it. So your going to need it respraying eventually if you want it sorted.
Just spray it
