Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 20-03-2014 So the diablo has a pretty poor patch of lacquer peel on the roof. I'm debating vinyl over it (after taking the lacquer back) or whether i should risk a full spray; reason i don't fancy a spray is becuase of poor colour match of faded diablo anyone able to shop a black roof (matt and gloss) Apologies for the poor pic but finding a picture of a diablo with accessible roof isn't the easiest. Can get another picture if needed. RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - WiNgNuTz - 20-03-2014 If no one else does this for you, I might have a crack at it when I get home, but won't be till later this evening. RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Curt - 20-03-2014 Wet and dry it and then go over with a mop with decent heads and compounds first. RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Choppin - 20-03-2014 You shouldn't have a problem with colour match if you use a decent bodyshop mate, the paint supplier I use has a colour match gun which basically uses a bright light and a camera and then works out what tinters are needed to match the colour perfectly, also you may find there is "field" colours which are basically a tinted version of the original colour which is normally a faded version of the original colour. Also you maybe able to find a vinyl company that will be able to get a very close match to your original colour if you want to go that way, anyway hope this helps mate RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 20-03-2014 Ah lovely info chaps, thanks! It's whether to fork out for quite a pricy but reputable bodyshop to match it etc, or a smaller tradesman who'd do the vinyl work of black RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Niall - 20-03-2014 (20-03-2014, 06:07 PM)Curt Wrote: Wet and dry it and then go over with a mop with decent heads and compounds first. No good though if the lacquer has peeled down to the colour coat as Ginge saw on the 206 i sold him :p RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Curt - 20-03-2014 It's amazing what is salvageable with decent stuff. It's just worth a go before spending/doing something drastic, it'll need to be done anyway to match fresh paint. RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Eeyore - 20-03-2014 RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 21-03-2014 Oooh I like that! Is that a Matte black Sam? Or would it make little difference with the poor small pic? Re: RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - kentiiboii - 21-03-2014 (21-03-2014, 07:09 AM)ginge191 Wrote: Oooh I like that! I'd say go for gloss black will look nice :-) RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - C.A.R. - 21-03-2014 Yea I wouldn't go matte over such a large area. Will look very 1970's and out of place! If it must be done, gloss black. With chequers :p RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Slam Wagon - 21-03-2014 RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 21-03-2014 ah not a fan of the chequered roof! I'll stick to the gloss i think! I've got some better pictures i'll upload later also RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Grant - 21-03-2014 Probably no help what-so-ever, but my china with a gloss black roof. Personally, I would say go for it! RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 21-03-2014 photo whore. Looks awesome though; i suppose though, if the lacquer is to be removed back to scracth anyway; perhaps it's worth spraying rather than vinyl?? Re: Photoshopper please; roof woes - kentiiboii - 21-03-2014 Id just vinyl least that way in future you could save it. RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - Grant - 21-03-2014 If you vinyl it, a large amount of lacquer will come off when removing it. So your going to need it respraying eventually if you want it sorted. Just spray it RE: Photoshopper please; roof woes - ginge191 - 21-03-2014 (21-03-2014, 02:40 PM)Grant Wrote: If you vinyl it, a large amount of lacquer will come off when removing it.
