After viewing the car a couple of times and thinking about it, decided that I couldn't go far wrong with a gti6 for under a grand, so Sunday morning I left Chris to finish off a couple of bits on the 2.1 conversion and went to hand over the cash for the gti :-)
1999 nile blue on a v reg
134k, shit loads of service history And the all important cambelt histo

Few interesting things about this car
It's a phase 3 just with some random ph2 bits presumably out of the parts being registered between September 99 and March 2000
Ph3 bumpers, bootlid, skirts , crystals, imterior
But it has phase 2 rub strips, orange side repeaters, ph2 clocks and phase 2 infrared remote central locking instead of rf. Very strange mix of parts
The car needs a new rear beam, brake overhaul and a decent service.
Already loving gti6 ownership

Another thing, has anyone ever heard of OAC and LWK being Peugeot press release registrations?
I did a reg check and it was registered in Coventry so perfectly plausible

My GTI was an OAC... It was a VERY late PH3 GTi-6.

Guy I bought it off was going to service it but I asked him not to, as it would have been done with cheap nasty shit. Would rather get the car cheaper then use Trade discount and use decent parts :-)

Once the wings sorted and it's had a decent mop and polish it'll be pretty immaculate, just need to sort the rust bubble on the bootlid next

had hardly any chance to drive it yet as im not too keen on doing so until the rear beam and brakes are sorted aha. but the brief drives i have had were awesome, just that overtake anything ability never gets old haha
much more pleasant to drive long distance than the rallye as its not as brutal haha

its on the lip under the glass basically, so i think the best course of action will be sand the rust out, treat it then be as careful as i can about repainting it aha. its such a small spot i might get away with a touchup pen job

Ah and unlike a rallye the gti6 doesnt give SAAB drivers road rage
Rust bubble shouldnt be too uch of a problem too sort either big question... does it have an undertray?
