It's an epic setup there, might not be ideal for you though..

It'd be ideal but alas that's too expensive. I guess im punting in the region of £250 & im happy to accumulate bits. :-)

To be fair depending on price Jonny's setup is all you can really wish for. All the hard works done too..

Yeah not pushing massive figures, 205k on the clock remember, so I dont want to go crazy. I'd just like to be able to suprise a few people and myself tbh.

Yeah, Jonnys would be great, no question I just dont have 500 sheets kicking about.

Who said he wants £500, he asked what its worth.

If I had a HDi I'd have a rock on for that setup.

It'll cost you a lot more to get a exhaust, FMIC and turbo sourced/fabricated.

And it's one of the most raved about turbos going.

If you just want simplicity then get a FMIC setup, decent clutch and a remap.

Either way you'll need to get mapping sorted regardless of stage 1/2/3.

Well if Jonny wants to pm me a price, maybe we can sort something out.

Ok. Another question. Why does the inlet manifold need to be changed for a xantia manifold? Is the current manifold not suited to higher pressure?

You don't change the entire inlet manifold, just the inlet elbow. The standard one on a hdi points straight down as the pipe feeds straight into the turbo, the new one points into the engine bay.

Right folks. A small update.
Spent a few hours on the old girl yesterday, sorted out the boost leak and blanked the egr.
The boost leak seemed to be coming from the egr actuator.
I think with the remap next year I'll get the egr delete.
Spoke to Jonny too. Bloody lovely bloke.

sounds like your cracking on with it dude

Well the hiss was driving me mad and having it apart seemed to make sense to block the egr.

Why doesn't the HDi have an intercooler when the DT does?
Its just out of curiosity more than any other reason.

In standard form they didn't really need one.

Fair enough. Seems a shame that they didn't and had a competitor to the more powerful VAGS.

Ok. Just purchased a boost gauge. Where do you tap into to get it to work?
Any pictures/links to useful guides are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Having looked into this a bit, I've seen that people are making a blanking plate for the EGR, tapping that into the manifold elbow.
This should work on the HDi right?

Sounds like you're talking about the way its done on an hdi, yeah. Can tap into that for your boost gauge if you like, save modifying any oem parts. Really you can take your boost gauge feed from any pipes that hold boost, but ideally you want to be as close to the manifold as possible, makes it neater to install if nothing else. Iirc theres a guide for this too, probably in the fmic or hdi stage 2 threads.

Exactly like that. Smile

No probs. Sorry for the constant "theres a guide", but i'm on my phone at work so by the time i've found it and linked it, the chances are you'll have had time to find it, read it and do it all anyway. lol

Open the bonnet, on the strut tops there will (or should be) a white sticker with the 4 letter code on it. Failing that think there's a stamp on the inside of the drivers door???
