Yes you can re-use the headbolts

They fit the same as normal headstuds, but you wind the studs into the block first, drop the head on, then put orignal spacers, arp washers and nuts on the studs to torque it down.

Thats how I did mine, and how the boys in america do it. I did a search of google before I did it and seems legit

Just whipped one off, i make that 145mm:

Head is E14, and not sure how bolt size is measured, but this is 10mm diameter. Thread is 1.25.

If that's all the same i'll have a set too. Big Grin

I can whip a nut off mine tomorrow and measure how much thread is on the top of the stud

You'll need another 30mm is sticking out the top, will this foul anything?

Not front side, couldnt say about the back as one engines in the car and the other doesmt have anything on the block... Cant see 30mm being a problem though.

Will see if I cn put the spare engine together a bit tomoz and make sure.

Head's back on and there seems to be tons of spare clearance. BUT, having rechecked my blurry-eyed measurements from last night, i'm going to say the thread is x1.5mm... Tried to match it to a wheel bolt and it won't sit right... Sad

Looks like they'll need spacers for hdi I'm afraid

There is hardly any spare thread on top of the stud - after nut and washer we've got something like 8mm left.

By my calculations based on thread length of hdi bolt being 128mm you'd need spacer of about 18-20mm to make them work

I'm pretty sure the hdi bolts are m10 too, whereas these are m12, couldn't find my calipers to confirm though. Its looking a bit doubtful tbh, thanks though.

How many people do you think we can get onboard? I can probably get a good price and order like 10 sets and sell them on the No Smoke No Poke shop for you all....

I suspect there'll be a few interested in the next six months or so, but then again how often do people follow through with projects... I can think of two people that would almost certainly be interested, but i'll leave them to chime in for themselves.
