Not wanting to piss on the bonfire for the thread, but I'm assuming you know £999 challenge has been cancelled this year?

Well after the battery killed itself and the starter motor went, i'm awaiting the post for a new starter motor. Hopefully this will solve the none starter.
I was looking over the car with pompeymark the other day, and discussion went along the lines of how unlucky this has been.
So, i thought i'd make a list of what has actually gone wrong/not right, albeit my fault/unlucky, a problem is a problem.
Starting with engine removal:
Seized driveshaft O/S
Broken driveshaft N/S
incorrect water pump for new block
neuisance flywheel
useless fuel pump
cambelt timing 4 times
injector issues
broken intercooler
dead battery numerous times
starter motor bust
alternator needed modifying
hit a deer - front end replace
bumper mounts corroded
oil filter split
new radiator split
popped water hose
sparking starter motor
leaky gearbox
and i think that's about it... so yeh, not the luckiest of changes, but it's getting there; from the list, the only issue lay with the electrics. Starter on the way, fingers crossed, once more..a

They've had some issues with the website being compromised but I only heard about it the other day. Apparently only one person had actually entered, and Kate rang him to say it'd been cancelled.

Hmm I see.
They kept reminding me telling me there were only few spaces left.
I hadn't bought my ticket due to extensive issue. Once the car was running, hopefully this weeks, I was gona get the ticket. What a shame

Give them a ring, afaik it was only last week it was confirmed, maybe if they get a few people ringing for tickets they'll put it back on?

Car runs; after Niall diagnosing for a few hours, it's running.
As PPC is cancelled, the next deadline is the dyno day; just need some fluids topped up, a good run, watch it closely, a damn good clean then look at the small upgrades; brakes, ARB then look at turbo fitting

It was the starter motor, changed that, still dead, changed the battery, still dead, checked all the wiring, still dead, got another battery, and another starter, works. Sooooo I don't know.

I dont think so... it would light up the dash instruments and activate the starter to an extent..

All it was doing is activating the solenoid. That motor is pretty fooked.

Yeah....otherwise the motor would of turned over. Either that or it had an absolutely huge bloody flat spot in it! lol

Just going to finish the last little niggles around the car; fans, grill etc.
Then get working on the suspension; horeendous knocking from the N/S; my best is wishbone.
Also, need to give it a good ol clean!
