whishbones are fitted also found the anti roll bar clamp not fitted correctly it wernt located into the chassis
so sorted that went for a spin im smiling again cars so much better it turns in quicker with the new wishbones, deffo pulls better with a cleaned airfilter and the revs dont stick so alls good now thats sorted too also the clutch is booked in for next saturday at the moment im attacking some rust on the gutter above the drivers door, so get that undercontrol before theres a hole in the roof dremmel with a wire brush some kurust and some paint will sort that as its under the gutter rubber

decided to have a go at the Battery terminal as it was a bodge!
cut off the terminal recrimped a new lug and heat sleaved it and a new clamp pritty! and the inlet is still clean!
05-06-2013, 12:46 PM
I think bodge is an understatement for the battery clamp how it was
clutch is Done what a shit of a job
thanks go's to Dum-Dum for some advice over the phone, or we would have been scratching our heads for a long while on how to disengauge the fork arm from the bearing oil seal was replaced it looks as if the leak was from the sump though as the bolts were loose all cleaned up and refitted dont want to do one of them again for a while! clutch plate was well worn and the pressure plate was falling apart! clutch is light and bits hard now!
09-06-2013, 12:29 PM
went and washed the car at the local jet wash......and
the widscreen wipers dont work! goto like the reliable french electrics so stripped out the wiper motor stripped it down cleaned all the bearings brushes and contacts, reasembled and all works again think it needs replacing soon looks rough inside and the brushes are low

this week ends project has just arrived in a box
new set of rear beam mounts should go nice with a recon beam
18-06-2013, 09:41 AM
Ooooer your cars getting the works! Definately a good save. Did you think about solid rear mounts or not interested/too much wonga for how much you use the car?
Doesnt even own a 306.
18-06-2013, 10:31 AM
yes tom exactly that too much money for what they are for the amount of use/ abuse they would get.
all the latest stuff ive bought like gear linkages, rear mounts, oil, filters, gearbox oil, have not cost me anything as the airbag resistor sales are paying for the parts, ive just got to fit them
19-06-2013, 11:39 AM
Sad car!

some quick pointers for changing the beam mounts
jack up car support car on the propper jack points to avoid damage use penetrating oil on all bolts your going to slacken/remove undo bolts while axle is mounted firm but dont remove bolts slacken but dont remove slacken but dont remove oposite side remove top fixing bolts slowly lower side on jack caution watch brake lines!! part remove lower bolt, fully remove top bolt mount should wiggle out by tipping to the rear of the car remove mount note offset admire the used mounts refit in the oposite manner near side needs bottom damper bolt removing to let the arm swing lower to let bottom mouunt bolt out only part remove lower bolt same as other side remove top bolt lower beam on jack caution watch brake lines! refit new mount admire your handy work
while the wheels were off i took the rear arch liners out to have a peak and replace the chewed up one,
i was pleasantly surprised to fined no rust! so have wire brushed the Arch's out and given it a good couple of coats of Hamerite white once thats dried i will refit the new arch liners so list of things done to date in no order front ball joints x2 front Brake flexys x2 front wishbones X2 steering gator handbrake cable O/s front wheel bearing new cam-belt kit inc water pump new aux belt idler new clutch new comp gear linkages re-con rear beam beam mount set x4 replaced radiator inlet manifold clean/paint fixed Hatch C/L fixed N/s C/L refitted door cards re glued fabric repaired cigarette lighter replaced rear lights removed air con condenser fitted A/c fan switch Mod painted rear Arch's renewed rear arch liners sourced Boot carpet & hatch shelf Things left to do...... clean Paint front arches replace front arch liners degrease and steam clean engine bay
