My track toy
Cheers mate just need to get it running now. Desperate to get out on track after seeing you lot all at silverstone, few more jobs to get done yet though

Need to tackle the grill next and then make a custom scoop to make the most of the available room now which is a lot compared to before

It wasn't cheap lol but was toying with the idea of a 205 rad set up which has been done before but by time I'd got a performance 205 rad and then had hoses to fit and a header tank etc it worked out cheaper to go completely custom

Nice, very good work with the slam panel there. How do you know the smaller radiator will be good enough for cooling? Or is it thicker so still the same volume?

The rad is around 35% shorter than original but is twice the thickness compared to the nissens rad I had in there originally + I know a few people including people who race have used the 205gti radiator set up in there cars which is smaller than what I have and it was ok on that so just going by that really + I spoke to the rad builders who also confirmed that it will be more than up to the job.

I've only gone by that really but I guess only time will tell but it's not really going to see much road use so hopefully it'll all be good

Managed to get the drain plug and hose adapters needed in the week so fully fitted the "cooling pack". Also made some shorter hoses for the oil cooler and got that all plumbed in along with the fan wiring so finally got it running for first time In ages

Took it out for a Little drive and ended up with a coolant leak from the heater hose to thermostat so redid a hose and also changed a couple of jubilee clips on a hose as both were at there limit

Looks mean with no filter Big Grin

That's the ones couldn't think of the name but yep that's them cheapest I could find by far. As with alot of things I've found the fronts were as cheap as alot of people try and sell 2nd hand. Same with my cage I got it direct from tweaks for under £500 where most people try and sell 2nd hand for £500+ lol

Are the rear quarters pre drilled?

Colour wise, go for a wrap. When your bored of the colour just peel it off and choose another!

Colours staying white paints in good condition especially for a track car plus I only brought the car because it was white lol there were much better examples out there for the money but had heart set on white .

Finally managed to get a couple of hours in on the car so fitted new larger filter for the bodies and got bumper and newly modified grill aligned, fresh wheels and tyres fitted and finally after what seemed like no end of coolant leaks fixed.. Have discovered that my ball joints are knackered so guess that's next on the list along with getting my suspension aligned/set up and exhaust made quieter then hopefully some track action

Anyways picture time Smile

Well we know what we need to do now as its the sound from the tbs thats the problem. It was 95 from the back and 105 from the front.

Done a bit more today. Managed to change the slider on the driver seat as the one on there kept getting stuck and what a pain it was nothing lined up so a lot of drilling and eventually it's in. Also replaced the lower ball joints as found out last week they were past there best a long time ago lol. Oh and softened off the front coilovers a bit for the road as they were far to stiff initially. Next on the list is to fit the front windows and sort out my fibreglass boot lid so hopefully make a start tomorrow after work

Got a couple of better up to date pics
