As most of you know, MrsMoonstone and myself had a mental weekend trying to find a new car in 48 hours after our 1.6 failed it's mot.
So a couple of mental hours later a close escape out of bradford, we found a bargin for £500 with 12 months mot.
I was expecting it to be ragged...but its pretty much perfect...tear in the drivers seat cover and got the wheels balanced..drives like a dream and I never wanted a BMW but this is a sweet drive...
As my sister said: "its like a retired drug dealers car...nice!"
Edit: btw..forgot to say its a 318is (1993 Model! thats 19 years old!! took me a while to work that one out) 140bhp and i believe it has the m3 styling body
oh..and its got an analouge clock...sweeeeeeeeeet!
note where the 70mph is on the clock....germans...bah..
and lol:

Looks good, I loved mine even if it was a dog and slower than walking. They look really smart with some subtle tweaks too if you end up keeping it... Mine has an analogue clock too

It's got the M3 skirts and spoiler, but normal bumpers
Not bad cars these, lovely ride and handling, far better with a 6-pot though...

It's not my size of car but after my first outing in it today (Moonstone had chosen an excellent testng route ) I absolutely love it! Pedals nice and close together, a lady's car (makes it kinda unsuitable for me, see photos above, but hey... ). Very solid on the road except for occasional drifting attempts of the rear... Can't wait to have it down in York to play with for real! All in all, a good bargain that solved our immediate problem last weekend. And it'll be a doddle to get rid off when the time comes, family members have already expressed interest - sorted!

Shit that's sexy! The car above, not the shed in the first post Nah just kidding (sort of) always liked E36s because of the rectangular 90s look, but the 1.8 certainly isn't an appealing proposition and it probably drinks petrol like theres no tommorrow. But I agree with some subtle styling cues they can look incredibly sexy, ala Disco Stu's from .net.

There is a tomorrow? Wish I could tell the car that...I think it just has the hots for the girls at the petrol station and makes me drive it there at any possible moment!

I don't like bmw's. In fact I don't like most german cars but f*ck me some of them old bmw's are sexy as. Not the 8series though. Never did see the appeal to them

I know a bloke with a 350i E36...
Started as a 320i, then became a 328i, then he found a 750iL V12 in a scrapyard and got a daft idea, 300 bhp and 330 lb ft

Fella used to come into work (petty station) with an 850 he'd sent to the M-division along with "a few grand" a few years back, damn that thing was fine...

Indeed it did
Corners like on rails but will drift with a little power pedal persuasion :p
