Carlos182's Bora Project (Exhaust Video inside)
#91
Right-o.
Decided I'm keeping this a bit longer, at least until I've finished uni.
Not a lot to update on since, but was re-mot'd last year and went thought easy Smile
Since then it's had a cat-back S/S exhaust and a cone filter and that's all it's needed...
So, at long last, I've ordered some coilies... ABOUT TIME! And some polo top-mounts. Debating as to if I should get a strut brace and go on track at PPC but that'll probably happen nearer the time if it does...

Next mission, WHEELS! Big Grin

Well that may have been easier than I first thought it might have been...
Might have just found some of these;

Dare RS 17's. 8.5j front 10j rear. Rears might be a bit tight and might need arch work... Tongue
Obviously not the Z4 too.

I know most of you aren't bothered by this, but mainly for me keeping track :p

My wheels were 8.5 and 10, rear arches are already rolled as standard and I did have to roll the fronts aswel, but I was also on 18's, 17's might be a bit easier. Also depends on offset aswel obviously

Cheers for the insight (y)
Whike im here, might as well ask a couple more questions.
What did you do about your arb? Remove it? TT or the silverline thingy?
Engine spacers... easy to fit?
Chassis notch looks easy enough though (:

I had a tt/r32 arb. Gotta drop the subframe to fit it but only took me like an hour to do. Engine spacers are a bit of a lady garden to fit imo but 100% worth doing. 25mm takes the sump just higher than the subframe which means you can drive like a twat everywhere and not worry about your sump. Never got a scratch on mine. And chassis notch isnt too bad if you have a drill and a welder, just make sure its plenty big enough, I did mine a bit small first time round and had to re do it. :-)

You have/had the tabs on the coilies to attach them to? Reading up some people say that you have to and some people dont... half tempted to remove it altogether haha.
Plenty of 15mm spacers around so might give them a shot... seen a guide and said about removing expansion tank etc?
Might need to get a slightly less poweful welder as the arc we've got at the moment is a bit too beefy for most things haha.
Could well be asking you plenty more questions at this rate :p

Progress Big Grin
Well sort of, got some nice shiny bits turned up today and got my eye on another set of wheels that end Friday...

Just waiting on a set of Polo top mounts and they'll be on. Fingers crossed Friday as I'm not at uni, should at least get the rear on if not.
Cheesewedge ftw.

Because I can't really afford them. They are at at stonking price, rear tyres are pretty good, the the front two have got some wear on the inside edge. Will also need spacers and bolts too. Probably looking close to £1000 by the time I'm done :'(

I know. I mean I could afford them, but I'd be so skint for the next month or two.
Might just have to for the pure porn factor of them though...

Well coilies are on. Sitting okay atm, but waiting for stuff to settle. Didn't get pics as it was too dark, but will tomorrow.
Still on the hunt for wheels. I begrudge paying more than what I paid for the car on a set of wheels...

Well some quick pictures. Just been in the garage leveling out a bit.
Adjusters are pretty much all the way down on the back and it's still higher than the front. Best way to solve this? Take the adjuster out?

Fitted wind deflectors this week too Smile

Well today thought I'd have a laugh and go to the R/R too see how much power had been lost! Tongue

Quite surprised by the result...

115 PS / 113.4 BHP standard.
117.1 PS / 115.5 BHP now, so not too bad saying the mileage etc! Smile

Have also fly-eyed my lights and indicators, looks much better now IMO. Haven't got any daytime shots yet though.

Coilovers have settled nicely and looking a much better height, just needs some wheels now!

Got my snowfoam lance the other day too, tried it out and works a treat. Shame it's filthy again now Sad
